Description :
A Computational Biologist position is available in Alain HOVNANIAN’s laboratory of Genetic skin diseases in collaboration with Mickael MENAGER’s Single-Cell laboratory at the Imagine Institute/INSERM UMR1163 in Paris, France.
The candidate will work on a project aimed at elucidating the pathophysiology of severe monogenic inflammatory skin diseases including Netherton syndrome, Darier disease, Hailey-Hailey disease, Pachyonychia Congenita and Ichthyoses with identified pathogenic variants.
The candidate will analyse transcriptomic data from lesional and non-lesional skin from patients’ samples already generated.
He/she will collaborate with post-doctoral researchers investigating (phospho)proteomic abnormalities and implementing experimental validation of omics data.
Expectations of the current post :
The computational Biologist will be expected to set up and optimize pipelines to analyze single-cell RNA-Seq and spatial transcriptomics libraries (Visium). In collaboration with the bioinformatic platform, s/he will have to analyze the data generated from the sequencing of single-cell libraries…
Qualifications :
We are looking for a highly motivated computational biologist (PhD/engineer diploma or master’s degree in bioinformatics) with a proven track-record of independent working.
Demonstrated experience in analyzing single-cell RNA-Seq and Spatial transcriptomics datasets is required (Seurat, Scanpy, and Monocle). Prior experience in bulk RNA-Seq analysis (DESeq2, edgeR) is preferred. Candidates with knowledge in machine learning applied to histological image processing are strongly encouraged to apply. Knowledge of skin diseases (atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, Hailey-Hailey and Darier disease) is considered a plus but not required.
We are looking for a candidate with versatile skills, open to work in different topics and projects and with a strong team-building spirit and the ability of interacting with computational, experimental labs, platforms and clinicians.
Salary and duration of contract :
The contract will initially be for 12 months, with the possibility of an extension and salary will be established based on experience.
Starting date : as soon as possible
