What is the Project Audit Lead’s objective?
Carbon offset, carbon neutrality and net zero initaitives are gaining momentum in all geographies where we have presence. The voluntary market is growing rapidly as well as the demand for voluntary offsetting. On the compliance side, regional and sectorial regulations are also increasing. Project development demand is growing, specifically with carbon sequestration and removals.
As a fast-growing organization, we are currently looking for a Project Audit Lead within the Nature Based Solutions Business Unit. This role will focus on conducting on desk and on field assessment of carbon offsets projects in addition to the management and execution of the various responsibilities as decribed below.

Project Audit Lead, Nature Based Solutions Business Unit
The Project Audit Lead is in charge of the quality and integrity of audits conducted on the Ecoact portfolio of projects. The key responsibilities include the following:
• Oversee the entire process of due diligence of projects offered by Ecoact to ensure quality of portfolios.
• Conduct on a regular basis a thourough analysis in collaboration with the P&P Consultants of the Ecoact’s best-in-class projects, and on a weekly basis for all projects in line with needs required.
• Improve the quality check of the existing due diligence process (on desk and on field).
• When necessary, travel abroad to visit and perform due diligence on identified relevant projects.
• Structure the field visit audit: develop a guide on how to carry on an audit on the field (pre requisites and preparation, aeras and topics to assess, questions to raise, attitudes, etc.) and train the team accordingly.
• Manage the field visits organisation fothe team, and review all reports / analysis from on-field audits.Ensure best quality audits.
• Track all due diligences and ensure it is updated on a monthly basis, and follow the KPIs of the shortlist of projects with the Communication Officer.
• For projects that requires upfront investement, assess the data provided by the partners, challenge the technical information, on field assessments as well as all technical information provided by the partner.
• Perform market watch to adapt the due diligences requirement to the market evolutions and standards requirements.
• Participate to client meetings when required to present the due diligence process and the outcomes for projects shortlisted.
• Develop communication and marketing materials on project auditing process to be used by staff and clients.
• Collaborate with the Registry Manager to integrate due diligence aspect / improve the reporting on the internal team tool.

Required competencies for the position

• Good knowledge in carbon project certification process
• Technical expertise in fields in forestry, energy efficiency or renewables is a plus
• Excel proficiency

• Fluent in English, another language is a must

Experience
• A minimum of 5 years professional experience on climate change related topics with a focus on auditing projects (on desk and on field).
• Good knowlegde of carbon offsetting project mechanisms
• Field experience is a must
• Experience in carbon project development and carbon projects certification is a plus

Location and Reporting
• Location preferably based in the UK (London) or France (Paris).
• Reporting to the Head of Portfolio and Partnerships - NBS Business Unit (Paris based)
