The Role

Reporting to the VP Product Management, the role will be responsible for managing and growing the SYNTAX benchtop DNA synthesizer portfolio and working at the forefront to drive the adoption of DNA Script’s Enzymatic DNA Synthesis (EDS) technology. The successful candidate will serve as the product commercial lead, working in cross-functional core teams responsible for defining and developing new EDS and SYNTAX platform offerings within the product development process. They will take a leading role in the commercialization of new products and the day-to-day life cycle management of on-market products.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a rapidly evolving organization, working proactively and independently to manage multiple priorities, with the goals of delivering customer satisfaction and growth of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage on-market products to support sales and drive uptake and growth.
  • Work with Sales to ensure accurate product forecasting, and with Manufacturing Operations and Quality to ensure product supply and performance meet customer expectations.
  • Analyze sales and usage data to provide stakeholders with relevant trend information and reporting and to drive product-related decision making.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing to define and manage product value proposition, positioning, and pricing for new and sustaining products, from concept to end of life.
  • Partner cross functionally to develop, establish and manage a robust, gated, product development and commercialization process, including escalation and support for go/no go, hold and kill decision-making.
  • Serve as the primary customer advocate and voice of commercial leadership in project teams during product development, to ensure appropriate targeting and addressing of market requirements.
  • Deliver product-specific content for technical data sheets, customer literature and sales training materials.
  • Partner with the Product Marketing and Commercial Marketing teams to develop launch plans, product collateral and other promotional materials to support GTM strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with Product Marketing to stay connected to market needs, gaps, opportunities and emerging trends, and monitor the competitive landscape of the DNA/RNA synthesis markets.
  • Identify new product opportunities, prepare new product proposals, and develop supporting business cases.
  • Represent DNA Script at conferences, trade shows, and events, and champion EDS technology to help the commercial team and the company meet its goals.
  • Contribute to the development of DNA Script’s strategy at both a business and a portfolio level, including looking ahead to potential future valuable applications of the technology.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or a related field; graduate degree in a scientific discipline and/or MBA desirable.
  • 3+ years in life sciences or related industry product management or product marketing;.
  • Research and/or product development experience in a genomic discipline.
  • Successful track record of developing, launching and sustaining products.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in the voice of customer primary and secondary market research, financial analysis and modeling, strategic planning.
  • Track record of successful collaboration in cross-functional teams across time zones.
  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels.
  • Effective time and project management.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and oral communication skills and comfortable with presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of the oligonucleotide synthesis market and related application areas.

Miscellaneous

  • Location: Paris, France; predominantly office based
  • Travel: Approx. 20%, to global customers and (occasionally) SF Bay Area office.
  • Start date: ASAP
