Our Digital Portfolio Management Team is looking for a Portfolio Manager based in Paris, Lille or Amsterdam.

Over the past years Decathlon has invested heavily in the Digital space and building excellence around delivery. Our ambitions for the coming year are big and we want to continue to grow our capabilities and Digital expertise. As part of this investment, we have established a PMO (Project, Program and Portfolio Office) in our Digital organization.

As a portfolio manager you will be responsible for the intake, prioritization, and holistic sequencing of work for the Data Platform domain, whose vision is to enable all teams to easily access, manipulate and leverage trusted data assets. The Data Platform provides foundational enterprise data assets and a relevant set of tools, to allow to build data, analytics and AI use cases.

In partnership with your peers and the executive leadership, you prepare decision recommendations based on a holistic perspective on delivery and the value of individual line items. The insights you generate through your portfolio serve as input for org design, strategic capacity planning and risk management. You collaborate closely with your portfolio peers and with the manager of the Digital portfolio to identify trade offs and decision needs and react quickly to changing circumstances. As part of the Digital PMO team, you actively continue to process development and iterations and to build the portfolio discipline at Decathlon. The role reports directly to the Leader of Portfolio Management.

Your Future Impact

  • Work in partnership with leaders to steer the portfolio in line with the strategic objectives of Decathlon.
  • Manage the intake, prioritization, and holistic sequencing of work in your portfolio, identifying decision needs and trade offs.
  • Formulate comprehensive decision rationales, including impact assessments and potential trade-offs.
  • Lead governance processes for decision-making, involving key stakeholders inside and outside their scope as needed.
  • Communicate portfolio updates, rankings, and decisions effectively to the entire organization - by using established routines and artifacts that they will maintain.
  • Provide clear insights into the rationale behind decisions to enhance organizational understanding.
  • In collaboration with Finance Controllers, provide solid support to their scope throughout the entire budgetary annual cycle, from budget needs articulation to submission and allocation.
  • Ensure regular and systematic resource allocation forecasting and follow up to optimize resource utilization. .
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in portfolio management.
  • Actively engage with the PMO community at large, providing constructive feedback, sharing best practices, and encouraging continuous improvement.

What you'll bring

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in project, program management, or portfolio management.
  • Portfolio management experience
  • Program leadership experience - leading large scale programs and guiding project managers.
  • Strong project and program management process skills in software development - experience working in large scale organizations with large scale projects and programs.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to effectively convey key messages and action items to all levels of an organization both in written and verbal communications.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills - experience working with complex stakeholder landscapes and ability to quickly build trusting relationships across disciplines and hierarchies
  • Strategic thinking - ability to balance long-term vision with short and medium-term goals
  • Adaptability - ability and willingness to engage in a fast-moving and international environment
  • Problem solving skills - passion for solving problems creatively, starting small, failing fast, and applying your learnings
