Staff DevOps Engineer AWS (Lille or Paris)

Data is at the heart of this ambition and in order to achieve it, we are looking for a Staff DevOps Engineer to join the Data Factory team, reporting directly to the senior engineering manager and alongside 3 other staff data engineers and over 70 other teammates. The mission of this team is to manage the Data Lake and a stack of best-in-class Analytics and Machine Learning tools. In this cross-functional role, you will be responsible for building a technical vision of the data platform and contributing to its implementation in the different teams that make up the Data Factory.

How will you contribute?

  • Guarantee high availability, scalability, security and observability of the Data Factory by relying on best practices and compliance with standards.
  • Contribute to a global technical vision in collaboration with other business domains and platform teams via Special Interest Groups and technical communities.
  • Shine technically: thanks to your expertise, make technical decisions that have an impact on the company and have them applied operationally.
  • Draw on your technical expertise in order to initiate, scope and streamline the most impactful, cross-functional and/or complex projects.
  • Work on architecture and the technical evolution of the data factory.
  • Bring a true SRE culture through good practices in deployment, administration, observability of the infrastructure.
  • Help your teammates to improve their technical skills via mentoring and training programs.
  • Improve overall efficiency and reliability by creating automation and integrations for existing tools and processes.
  • Implement efficient FinOps tools and practices to ensure responsible use of resources for all platform users.
  • Carry out POCs and help different teams make well adapted technical choices.
  • Actively participate in tech watch.

  • Full cloud environment: 100% AWS for Data, mostly GCP for other digital domains
  • Terraform
  • Kubernetes
  • CI/CD: Github Actions, Flux, Jenkins
  • Data Viz: mainly Tableau, plus other tools such as Looker, Qlik, Quicksight
  • Processing: Databricks, EMR, Athena, dbt
  • ML: SageMaker, MLFlow
  • Orchestration: Airflow
  • Storage/Metastore: S3, Glue
  • DB: Elasticsearch, Druid, DynamoDB
  • Stream: Kafka
  • Other: Jira/Confluence, GitHub

What will you bring?

  • 5+ years of experience as Senior/Staff Platform Engineer, DevOps and/or SRE in a full cloud environment (preferably AWS)
  • Expert in administration and best practices of cloud services
  • Knowledge of Python and/or Java
  • Hands-on experience with data ecosystems is highly appreciated
  • Strong tech and innovation culture with an architectural approach
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Proficient in French (C1) and Autonomous (B2) in English
