We’re looking for a Web Backend Developer with some knowledge or experience with DevOps, to work with our Programming and Product Management teams in building and maintaining our websites.

As a Backend Developer at Darewise, you will bring our web products to life, improving efficiency and scalability, whilst ensuring exceptional usability and performance. You will empower our teams with the necessary tools and infrastructure to allow them to reach our audience across multiple channels, including our website, game client, and more!

Please note that this position can be hybrid-remote in either Paris, or our new hub sites in Barcelona and London.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and implement a new backend stack for our website (marketplace, CMS,…)
• Prepare backend stack for scalability (clustering: CMS, DB, nodejs)
• Ensure compatibility across platforms and browsers, and also on the game client side (Unreal Engine 5)
• Development of Rest API for web client, internal tools, game backend
• Web server administration & DevOps
• Guarantee the performance and maintainability of our websites, and participate in their maintenance
• Communicate regularly with the technical project lead on progress, planning, and issues
• Take into consideration the user experience and proactively suggest improvements to user flows (both for end users and corporate users)
• Produce high quality and properly structured code.
• Work autonomously with support of our team in order to bring our vision to life

3+ years experience of Backend development working on challenging projects
Excellent skills in PHP (Laravel) and/or Python (Django or others)
Experience with databases and queries with SQL / NoSQL
Experience with Web server maintenance and configuration
Strong abilities with API configuration and management
Experience with NodeJS
Experience with DevOps
Working knowledge of cookies and SEO best practises
Strong problem solving skills with an appetite for learning and staying ahead of the curve with cutting edge technologies and techniques
At ease handling complex tasks and ability to work independently to deadlines
Strong collaborator with excellent communication skills in English, comfortable working with non-technical people and remote teams
Interest in game development and high self-motivation

Also nice to have:

Proficiency with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, React, Typescript)
Knowledge about Web3
Personal interest in MMO games, virtual worlds or metaverse.
