Job Environment:

AXA Group, a global leader in Financial Protection, guides and advises its clients, both individuals and businesses, through every life stage, addressing their needs for insurance products, as well as savings and wealth transfer services. The headquarters of AXA Group, located in Paris 8th district, consolidates the corporate activities of the Group. It coordinates the Group’s strategy across various entities and oversees international project management. The headquarters is particularly noted for its strong international culture, hosting 37 nationalities.

The Public Affairs team is responsible for defining AXA Group’s various public stances, particularly with French, European, and global policymakers, and politicians. The issues addressed range from financial regulation to personal data protection, climate change, challenges posed by the aging population, digital innovation (connected devices, cybersecurity, etc.), and new health models aligned with the Group’s strategic priorities.

The team collaborates with numerous internal and external experts to establish its positions and ensure their reliability and validity.

The team is led by the Director of Public Affairs and reports to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Group.

Main Activities :

The intern will have the opportunity to work within the Public Affairs team. Potential areas of focus include:

  • The European and international financial regulatory and supervisory frameworks (Solvency II, G20/FSB/IAIS frameworks on systemic risk, etc.).
  • The emergence of regulatory frameworks related to new uses and technologies (Digital Single Market, autonomous vehicles, cybersecurity, etc.).
  • Consumer protection regulations.
  •  Governance and transparency rules of groups, and more.

The role primarily involves monitoring and analysis work to actively support the influence efforts of the Management and the Group across all areas where political and regulatory initiatives might impact its activities.

Tasks may include:

  • Strategic, proactive, and autonomous monitoring of key regulatory topics and economic and financial news to inform the development of the Group’s positions.
  • Drafting memos and analytical and synthesizing documents for internal and external stakeholders of the Public Affairs Department.
  • Assisting in the preparation of high-level interventions for internal or external use.

Profil recherché

  • With a background in higher education (Master’s level or equivalent) from institutions such as Science Po, Business Schools, or Engineering Schools, and a solid foundation in Economics/Finance and Public Policy, you are seeking a 6-month internship experience.
  •  You have a good understanding of economics and financial markets and are familiar with the political decision-making process at the European level, as well as legislative and regulatory processes. Previous experience in any of these areas would be an advantage.
  • Proactive and initiative-taking.
