Within the Group, you will join the Financial Controlling department (PBRC). The Financial Controlling team is responsible for controlling, reviewing, analyzing, and reporting in an impactful manner on the financial performance of the Group, for the benefit of the Group’s Management, Board as well as external stakeholders (including shareholders, debtholders, analysts, auditors and supervisors).

The Financial Controlling team is the owner of several critical financial reporting processes at Group level. It is leading the production and analysis of internal and external financial reports, covering an extensive range of valuable information on the financial performance of the Group’s businesses and entities as well as on the Group’s financial position. It owns and orchestrates the financial closing process throughout the year and is in charge of the preparation of the Group’s financial statements, Annual Report and various other external disclosures (e.g., Financial Supplement).

As a center of expertise on the Group’s financial performance, it works closely with other Group Finance teams to play a key role in the steering by the Group of its entities’ performance and in the delivery of the Group’s financial objectives.

Within the Financial Controlling team, four Geographical Poles are focusing on a sub-perimeter of entities to ensure deep understanding, trustful relationship and collaborative dialogue with the Group’s business units.

Your job and daily missions:

Role and Responsibilities

As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work alongside a talented and experienced Financial Reporting Manager in Paris, France.
  • Lead a team responsible for all financial reporting of AXA France, a key entity with revenues of more than €20bn, and present on all insurance business lines (P&C, L&S, Health)
  • Act as the key stakeholder for both Group senior management and AXA France.
  • Take on vital responsibilities across the entire AXA Group by analyzing our main KPIs and preparing our annual and activity reports.
  • Develop your skills and advance your career in a dynamic and supportive work environment.

You will be in charge of managing two team members and a network of 20 Financial Controllers and accountants and will work closely with your peers to develop the performance and spirit of our 50-strong team that drives Group reporting functions.

As an in-house expert, you will provide clear communication of the Group’s KPIs to top management and influential external audiences and build the storyline of key markets and lines of business. You will not just organize and produce reporting, but will be a catalyst for improvement and change, challenging our entities on their figures and analysis, optimizing accounting treatment and alternative performance measures, and assessing the risks and opportunities that could affect Group results.

Profil recherché

Technical and professional skills

  • Strong business analytical skills and the ability to determine and assess key risks and opportunities
  • Extensive experience of the insurance business and a thorough understanding of insurance concept, with at least 7 years of experience
  • A strong knowledge of accounting and reporting frameworks, including IFRS17
  • A master’s degree in actuarial science would be a considerable advantage
  • Fluent in French and English is required

Soft skills

  • Dynamic, highly organized, structured, and proactive
  • Strong team worker and ability to build an effective trust – based relationship with all entities and Group correspondents
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral 
  • Ability to work under pressure, remaining effective and pragmatic while ensuring a high deliverables quality 
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and embracing new ideas and approaches to meet evolving business needs
  • Successful prior experience as a team manager/leader would be highly appreciated.
