Your job as a Pricing Intern

As part of the AXA Climate Insurance team, you will be based in Paris focusing on pricing of global parametric weather, natural catastrophe, and agricultural transactions.

The Pricing Intern will be accountable to propose, study and deliver an alternative method of pricing parametric contracts.

The Pricing Intern will closely work with the Pricing Leader, the Capacity Leader and the Underwriters, and will be at the core of the Insurance Ecosystem.

This role will suit a candidate who is looking to strengthen their technical skills, applied to critical business topics, with a strong strategical focus.

The main challenges and tasks you will be accountable for:

• Understand and master the current pricing methodology

  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of the current pricing methodology

  • Understand the usage of the current pricing methodology by underwriters, and collect their feedbacks

  • Understand and address the strategy of pricing with our risk carriers and capital providers

• Propose and study an alternative pricing method using portfolio considerations

  • Study the correlations and diversification of our portfolio

  • Assess the benefits of adding a new contracts to our portfolio

  • Determine the associated profitability

Technical Skills:

• Strong data retrieval and analysis skills, coding expertise in Python required. R is also possible

• A highly technical profile, with strong interest in business topics, able to properly understand the environment in which he/she is working.

Behavioral Skills:

• Relating openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people

• Strong communications skills, with demonstrated ability to negotiate positive outcomes

Experience required:

• An internship experience within an (re)insurance company or natural catastrophe modeling is a plus.
