Your mission

As Product Manager in the Merchant Performance squad, you will own two critical dimensions of the merchant experience: operations and performance optimization. Your mission is to build intuitive tools that empower merchants to run their business efficiently while providing actionable insights that help them maximize their revenue potential with Alma.

Working closely with a squad of 7 engineers and a product designer, you will shape the merchant experience across online and in-store channels. You'll deliver features that enable merchants to seamlessly manage their operations with Alma while optimising their revenue thanks to performance analytics, insights and communication tools.

Through deep understanding of merchant workflows, business needs, and revenue optimization patterns, you'll deliver solutions that drive both operational efficiency and commercial performance. You will partner closely with Revenue, Risk, Legal & Compliance, and Merchant Operations teams to ensure merchants have the tools, insights, and guidance they need to succeed with Alma at scale.

Main responsibilities

  • Define and execute the Merchant Performance strategy and roadmap, balancing merchant operational needs (dashboard features, user management, Alma POS page) with performance optimization capabilities (analytics, insights, Alma widget).
  • Lead continuous product discovery, leveraging merchant interviews, usage analytics, stakeholder feedback, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for improving merchant productivity and revenue performance.
  • Drive the end-to-end delivery of merchant dashboard features, POS tools, and analytics capabilities, working closely with engineering to balance user experience, technical complexity, and business impact.
  • Own merchant engagement and performance metrics, tracking dashboard adoption, feature usage, operational efficiency, and revenue optimization outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Revenue, Risk, Legal & Compliance, and Merchant Operations to ensure dashboard features support business workflows, compliance requirements, and operational scalability across markets.
  • Develop deep expertise in e-commerce and retail operations, understanding merchant workflows, payment operations, and performance optimization patterns to guide product direction.
  • Partner with other squads to ensure merchant-facing features integrate seamlessly with Alma's payment infrastructure and business systems.

  • Experience managing B2B dashboard products or operational tools involving multiple user types and workflows.
  • Familiarity with merchant analytics, performance dashboards, or business intelligence tools for commerce and payments.
  • Strong analytical mindset with comfort working with data and metrics (SQL proficiency is a plus).
  • Knowledge of e-commerce and/or retail and in-store operations is a strong asset.

Soft skills

  • Impact-oriented and autonomous, with a strong drive to deliver measurable results.
  • Curious and eager to learn, with willingness to deep-dive into merchant workflows, operational challenges, and revenue optimization patterns.

  • Structured and solution-oriented, comfortable navigating ambiguity and making product decisions with data and judgment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to structure and document product thinking effectively.

  • Experience building dashboards for payment, commerce, or business operations is highly valued.

  • Background working on retail or commerce products, including e-commerce platforms or in-store payment solutions, is a strong plus.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Revenue, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to deliver scalable solutions that balance user needs with business constraints.
