Descriptif du poste

Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.

The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!

We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or IBM, and we are growing fast after securing  €100 million of funding in 2025 to develop our unique technology.

Currently 100+ and counting, between physicists, PhD students, engineers and experienced business professionals, we are united to reach our ambitious goal. Are you a quantum pioneer? Join us on a mission to reshape the future!

About the role:

The Performance Optimization team aims at using advanced ML & Optimization tools on all the lifecycle of a quantum chip: design, simulation, calibration, operation, error correction.

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will bridge the gap between R&D and production. You will take novel algorithms from concept to reality. You will also write high-performance code, manage model training on our GPU cluster, and deploy your solutions to calibrate and control our quantum hardware. Working with a multidisciplinary team of physicists and engineers, you will apply your ML expertise to solve tangible challenges in quantum computing.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement machine learning and optimization algorithms.
  • Interface with our quantum hardware and our experiment’s tooling.
  • Connect with quantum experimentalists, software developers and quantum device theorists.
  • Be responsible of the delivery of the algorithms in a complex software environment, ensuring robustness and compatibility.
  • Stay up to date with current trends in ML, deep learning, policy learning and optimization.
  • Manage the training of ML models on a GPU cluster, including job scheduling and performance monitoring.
  • Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a company.
  • Master's degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Applied mathematics or related field.
  • Completed coursework in machine learning, optimization or deep learning.
  • Solid proficiency in Python programming and numerical modelling, and familiarity with a tensor library (PyTorch, Jax).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Professional-level English proficiency, both written and spoken.
  • Nice to Have

  • Proficiency in deployment tasks (e.g., SSH, environment setup, debugging).
  • Curiosity and prior knowledge of quantum physics and physical simulation.
  • A strong sense of ownership and attention to detail, ensuring that projects are delivered with quality and completeness.
  • Benefits

  • 25-day vacation policy (as per French law) + RTT
  • Half of transportation cost coverage (as per French law), or yearly allowance for bike enthusiasts
  • Competitive health benefits with Helium/AXA
  • Meal vouchers with Swile, as well as access to a fully equipped kitchen
  • Parental benefits with crèche support
  • Flexible remote policy, up to 40 % a month
  • Language courses covered by the company
  • Mental health support with moka.care
