Intro:

Airbus Helicopters is looking for an Information System Solution Architect to join our Connected Services department (ESB) based in Marignane, France.

The role of the Connected Services department is to design, develop and maintain ground-based digital systems, allowing to collect, decode, process and analyze data from the helicopters (ex.: data recorded during the flight) and from various information systems (ex.: data from a maintenance software), with the aim of improving both internal (Airbus Helicopters) and external (customers) performances.

Connected Services is a relatively recent and small entity, applying agile development processes on a wide range of projects, from the simplest (single software development) to the most complex ones (complete information system hosted on Airbus, customer or public cloud infrastructures, and including helicopter data downloading devices such as digital tablets or on-board telecommunication systems).

As part of the military project team (ESBM) dedicated to the State customers in France and worldwide (mainly Ministries of Defence and Ministries of Interior), you will be responsible for managing Information System architecture topics on a portfolio of projects, from the bidding stage to the signed contract implementation.

Your challenges:

On each project you will have to:

  • Analyze the customer needs and requirements, the customer operational processes (business view) and the customer existing/targeted ground-based IT infrastructures (technical view),
  • Design the adequate functional and technical architecture (including applications, infrastructures and services) through the organization of workshops with customers and the coordination of Airbus specialists (enterprise architects, business and system analysts, developers, security experts, etc…),
  • Deliver in due-time the architecture deliverables,
  • Manage the subcontracted architecture activities,
  • Contribute to all phases of the project life cycle including design, development, testing, implementation and support, regarding architecture-related topics.

Your profile:

  • Between 5 and 10 years of professional experience in Information System architecture design and implementation,
  • Strong IT background,
  • Familiar with Agile methodology,
  • Fluent in French and English (negotiation level),
  • A good knowledge of aeronautical industry and/or military environments is an advantage.

This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
