The position

Job description

You will be part of our Product team and will work closely with our Designers, Engineers, Content writers. You will build a deep understanding of independent workers struggles and design innovative solutions to complex problems.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Collaborate with the product team from early conception to building to gathering insights on live features and experiments
  • Evolve and grow our design system to maintain the Shine branding and feel across all interfaces
  • Help set and grow the standard for design quality at Shine
  • Conduct user research, extract insights & derive design solutions

Preferred experience

Who you are:

  • You have proficient experience working in product design
  • You can clearly articulate and communicate design decisions
  • Problem-solver: you can find creative solutions to large problems and navigate through complex UX and business constraints
  • You are biased toward efficient and consistent user experiences. You design Shiny experiences that work for people.
  • You know the tools of your trade, both visual design and prototyping / interaction design tools (Sketch, Framer/Origami/Invision or equivalent)
  • You know how to use Typography, Layout, and Color theory to create well balanced designs

Bonus points:

  • You can write good copy in both French and English (We have great people that can help you grow in that area if that’s an interest)
  • You have a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript (You don’t need to code professionally, but we’d love it if you know enough to understand development constraints. We can also help you grow in that area if you’re interested)
  • You know your way around and can gather insight from an analytics tool such as Mixpanel
  • You’ve been a Feelancer or Independant worker yourself
