The position

Job description

Reporting to Nathalie, Algorithm & AI Research Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing control models for our antennas based on reconfigurable metasurfaces. You will contribute to training these models using experimental data from “near-mid field” test configurations and apply advanced Machine Learning and/or Deep Learning techniques to develop robust, practical solutions in antenna control. Here are the tasks waiting for you:

Analyze the operation of our reconfigurable antennas:

  • Study the properties and physical mechanisms of metasurfaces to understand their operational principles,

  • Collaborate with research teams to translate this knowledge into precise control models,

Acquire and structure experimental data:

  • Assist in setting up protocols to collect data on various antenna configurations,

  • Organize, clean, and prepare this data for use in advanced algorithms,

Develop data analysis tools:

  • Design algorithms to convert collected “near-field” data for “far-field” applications,

  • Implement methods for visualizing and validating the data, ensuring its relevance for real-world applications,

Apply Machine Learning techniques to learn physical parameters:

  • Use Machine Learning techniques to model the physical behavior of antennas based on experimental data,

  • Make these models operational for both experimental and real-world scenarios,

Optimize antenna performance:

  • Test and evaluate advanced Machine Learning and/or Deep Learning approaches, based on the state of the art, to optimize metasurface configurations,

  • Propose solutions to maximize antenna efficiency in real-world conditions.


Preferred experience

Profile

You are preparing for a master’s/engineering degree in physics or applied mathematics and have knowledge of Machine Learning. You are comfortable with numerical computations in Python.

Professional skills

  • Knowledge of wave physics,

  • Proficiency in linear algebra and vector analysis,

  • Familiarity with Machine Learning/Deep Learning,

  • Skills in one or more programming languages such as Python or Matlab,

  • Familiarity with radio frequency systems and measurement techniques,

  • Good level of English (both oral and written).

  • Good communication skills,

  • Ability to work in an international team,

  • Adaptability and flexibility,

  • Proactivity.
