The position

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Head of Business Development to join our team as our first in-house business development leader. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in setting up and growing our sales department following our recent pivot to a SaaS model. Working closely with our VP of Sales, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth in the EMEA region and establishing strong relationships with key enterprise accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with our new SaaS model and revenue targets

  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders at large enterprise accounts to drive sales growth and establish our presence in the market

  • Gain a deep understanding of our SaaS products and services, as well as the industries and markets we serve, to effectively position our offerings to potential clients

  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, working closely with the product team to tailor solutions that address customer needs

  • Stay abreast of market trends and competitor activity, providing insights and adapting our business development approach accordingly

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns and initiatives that support business development efforts and generate qualified leads

  • Provide regular reporting and analysis on business development performance, pipeline, and forecasts

  • As a key member of our growing team, actively participate in the development and mentorship of future business development professionals


Preferred experience

  • 5+ years of experience in business development or sales, preferably within a SaaS environment, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth

  • Demonstrated success in building and nurturing client relationships, particularly with large enterprise accounts

  • Strong understanding of the SaaS industry and ability to quickly grasp the nuances of our products, services, and target market

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate value propositions and build rapport with stakeholders at all levels

  • Strategic thinking and analytical abilities, enabling you to identify new business opportunities and develop effective sales strategies

  • A results-oriented mindset, with a proven ability to meet or exceed revenue targets

  • A Masters degree in business, marketing, or a related field; an MBA is a plus
