As an Engineering Manager – DevX, you will play a critical role in shaping Developer Experience as a product.

You will lead the DevX squad, define the vision and roadmap, and ensure the delivery of scalable, secure and reliable tools, platforms and processes that empower all engineering teams at Wooclap.

You will work at the intersection of people, product and platform, with a strong focus on impact, pragmatism and long-term sustainability.


Responsibilities

As an Engineering Manager – DevX, you will lead a dedicated DevX squad composed of engineers with frontend, backend, infra, QA and platform expertise.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing and growing the DevX squad, including hiring, onboarding and career development.

  • Acting as a servant leader: removing obstacles, protecting focus and clarifying priorities.

  • Contributing the Engineering vision.

  • Owning the DevX roadmap, with a strong “DevX as a product” mindset.

  • Prioritizing initiatives based on impact, risk, effort and engineering needs.

  • Capturing developer needs by staying close to the development lifecycle.

  • Ensuring predictable, high-quality delivery of DevX initiatives, reducing operational noise and cognitive load for engineering teams.

  • Bringing a strong transversal technical understanding across frontend, backend and platform topics, staying hands-on when it adds value, and challenging technical decisions and architectures.

  • Implement reliability and availability topics (status page, reporting, SLA reviews, SRE practices).

  • Driving security engineering by design, defining and enforcing non-negotiable rules, standards and automated checks within the development lifecycle.

  • Ensuring visibility, tracking and cadence on security engineering initiatives, including vulnerability detection and remediation SLAs.

  • Representing the DevX squad in cross-functional discussions and leadership forums.

  • Communicating clearly on progress, risks and outcomes.

Preferred experience

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience.

  • Previous experience as an Engineering Manager or Tech Lead with people management responsibilities.

  • Experience working in a DevX, platform, SRE or tooling team.

  • Exposure to scale-up or SaaS product environments.

  • Strong understanding of software delivery, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure and security practices.

  • Proven ability to prioritise, structure work and lead complex initiatives.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
