Vestiaire Collective is looking for Senior Software Engineer (F/M/D) to join our Platform Team in Lisbon or in Paris

The Platform Team is responsible for all core tech to support the business, from infrastructure to building frameworks used by other engineers across the organisation.

Its mission is to provide the guidelines, tools and architectural guidance to ensure our platform scales healthy as we grow our business

Your role as part of the Platform team is to design and build frameworks used by the tech organization.

Our stack is made of PHP, Golang, Node.js, Docker, Kubernetes running on AWS cloud

You will report to the VP Engineering of the Platform Team and be in charge of identifying our biggest challenges and opportunities to scale the platform and creating innovative solutions. You will be responsible for defining and executing the squad’s roadmap and working cross-functionally with other engineering areas.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and develop high-quality, scalable, and maintainable features, tools and frameworks
• Optimise our code base, leveraging engineering principles such as Clean code and SOLID.
• Help us safely move from the monolithic architecture towards microservices, leveraging Golang and other modern technologies
• Writing clean, concise and sustainable code and unit tests
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, code comments, and system architecture diagrams
• Help and mentor engineers to maintain a high standard of code quality across the organization and support other teams in migration efforts

Who you are

• You’ve been actively working as a Senior/Staff Software Engineer in designing and developing large-scale web-based applications for 5+ years
• Seasoned developer preferably with experience in PHP and its ecosystem (frameworks such as Symfony or Laravel)
• Experience with modern software development practices such as CI/CD, agile methodologies, and test-driven development
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis
• Experience working with microservices architecture and related technologies
• You can analyse the big picture, design enterprise services, implement and prove your solution is great.
• You do not need to be micromanaged; to accomplish team and company goals, you can wear multiple hats and quickly learn new technologies and languages.
• You have a strong business sensitivity and understand the importance of delivering values to the end-users.
• Problem solver with strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and empathy.
• Computer science degree or equivalent work experience
