If so, then this could be the perfect job for you!  We are looking for a senior product manager to help 10x our Ads business over the next three years. 

Trainline believes in providing a friction free train travel experience, starting from searching for a journey, to boarding the train, to enjoying the stay at the destination. We are a fast-growing consumer business that operates across Europe – with widespread usage in the UK, France, Italy and Spain. With millions of weekly active customers, we are the no.1 travel app among train travelers across Europe. 

You will be joining a dynamic, supportive team of Product professionals who understand the importance of innovation and are passionate about applying it to our products, solving for both consumer and business needs.   Purpose of the role: 

  • We are looking for a senior product manager for Ads Monetization at Trainline. 

  • The primary part of this senior product manager role will be to help define and execute Trainline’s product strategy and vision for Ads, focusing on both optimising our current product and designing for its future, particularly taking into consideration our rapidly growing international customer base. We have many of the foundations, but we are just getting started!  

  • You'll be a valued expert and custodian of the Ads experience across Web and App. This will include upholding Trainline’s superior Customer Experience, while also building towards a personalised, dynamic and contextual Monetization future, offering customers the right merchandise at the right moment. We are building a proposition that both consumers and advertisers love, and we’re looking for someone help bring this proposition to life.  

  • You'll be responsible for both the strategy and the day-to-day execution of the Ads roadmap, working cross functionally with Software Engineering, Machine Learning, Ads Sales, Ads Operations, Design, Data Science and Finance to hit lofty quarterly targets.  

Responsibilities for this role:  

  • Have several years of experience in product monetization, with strong informed opinions and a track record of experience, staying on top of innovation, opportunity and best practice in Ads in an eCommerce, or Publisher environment.  

  • Be comfortable talking broad strategy and technical detail in all aspects of Ads and articulating both opportunities and threats with precision 

  • Take responsibility for defining and owning the Ads strategy for Trainline and medium/long-term roadmap for your domain. 

  • Be passionate about customer needs (both consumers and advertisers). You have strong empathy and are the customer advocate. You evaluate and understand customer insights and align them to the work your team is delivering to ensure user needs are met. 

  • Partner with dedicated embedded data science, researchers, and analysts to develop actionable qualitative and quantitative insights. You have a mindset of hypothesis, testing, and experimentation. You have the skill of setting and tracking KPIs/OKRs and product success metrics. You understand the value of learning fast and are able to communicate the hypothesis, insight, success, and failure to a wider audience. 

  • Partner with dedicated embedded UX Design team to define what and how to radically overhaul the customer experience. 

  • Work closely with a wider cross-functional team including Tech, PR, Commercial, Marketing, and Finance, to drive customer-focused innovation and achieve impactful results at large scale.  

  • Live the Trainline values and behaviours, demonstrating unquestionable leadership and accountability for your Product remit, building a healthy and collaborative Product and Engineering organisation culture 


Profil recherché

  • Several years of experience in Product Monetization (Ads or otherwise). Ideal experience would be working within a multi-market, high growth business  

  • Experience working in a high growth company driving improvements that move the needle. A particular desire to continuously optimise and improve the product experience by motivating and driving a team to achieve data-based metrics (KPIs or OKR targets) 

  • Worked in a fast-paced environment where you’ve had to think on your feet and bring people together to problem solve 

  • In depth experience of customer centric thinking through insights, data and experimentation.  

  • Experience leveraging great cross-functional relationships in building an impactful product strategy and roadmap. Partnering especially with Commercial, Marketing and Growth leaders to deliver product experiences that go to market successfully   

  • Knowledge and experience of working with Agile frameworks, writing user stories, setting sprint goals and collaborating with teams on acceptance criteria
