About the mission we offer you:

In line with developments in floating offshore production units, Technip Energies is developing dock mooring solutions for its floating units. These projects are being developed in various locations around the world, including hurricane zones. The development of new methods and the use of new tools are major challenges in ensuring that mooring systems are designed to be efficient and robust in hurricane zones.

These studies may focus on floats such as FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas units), FSRU (Floating Storage and Regasification Units), FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading units) or LNGC (Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers).

For this assignment, you will be attached to the naval architecture department at TECHNIP ENERGIES. This department, made up of around fifteen naval architects, will help you achieve your objectives and share its experience with you.

Your mission will consist of:

• Drawing up a list of applicable codes for mooring units in cyclonic areas, understanding their specific features and application to projects,
• Establishing best practices for dock mooring studies. Familiarizing yourself with various software programs (Orcaflex, Diodore, and Ariane) and models.
• Develop concrete cases of mooring models in cyclonic areas using the software available.
• Design mooring systems, analyze and understand the dominant parameters in mooring studies in cyclonic areas.
• Develop a study guide for conducting dock mooring studies in hurricane zones, highlighting the main conclusions and best design practices.

During this internship, you will be supported by a mentor who will answer any questions you may have. This internship will be an opportunity for you to develop your skills and knowledge.

As a third-year student (Centrale Nantes, Centrale Méditerranée, ENSTA, SeaTech, or equivalent), you are majoring in naval architecture or marine engineering.
