Role :
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Java Spring Boot Engineer to join our Engineering team based in Lille, France. This role is crucial in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable backend services and APIs that power our business applications. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture with effective communication skills in both French and English, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and efficient solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
Application Support & Development: Provide support and enhancements for Java-based applications and microservices, handling incidents, service requests, and troubleshooting issues reported by business users.
Technical Analysis & Troubleshooting: Analyze, debug, and resolve functional and technical issues related to Java Spring Boot services, REST APIs, and database integrations.
Incident and Problem Management: Monitor application performance, identify root causes of recurring issues, and implement long-term corrective measures.
Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand requirements, deliver timely solutions, and ensure user satisfaction with backend services.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including API specifications, deployment guides, and support logs.
Compliance & Security: Ensure all code, configurations, and deployments adhere to organizational policies, security best practices, and regulatory standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in backend development using Java and Spring Boot, including design, development, and troubleshooting of microservices-based applications.
Technical Expertise :
Strong proficiency in Java (8 or above) and Spring Framework (Core, Boot, Data, Security) — Expert (Required).
Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) — Proficient (Important).
Knowledge of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (GCP) — Proficient (Important).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub/GitLab, and automation tools (Jenkins, Maven, Gradle) — Proficient (Important).
Familiarity with message brokers such as Kafka.
Language Skills: Fluency in French and English.
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing performance or scalability challenges.
Tools & Collaboration: Familiarity with issue tracking and documentation tools like JIRA, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
Documentation: Ability to create clear technical documentation, API specifications, and deployment guides.
Preferred Skills :
Experience with cloud-native application development or greenfield microservices projects is a plus.
Working knowledge of automation, DevOps practices, and API integration technologies.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
