As a Regulatory Compliance Intern at Qonto, you will join the growing Regulatory team led by Alexandre Tribolet. This team is responsible for ensuring adherence to Qonto’s regulatory requirements and supporting Qonto’s teams in defining all the processes and actions to be put in place to address these requirements.

The Regulatory team at Qonto covers our four markets 🇫🇷🇩🇪🇮🇹🇪🇸 and a wide variety of topics. The team is instrumental in securing Qonto’s growth in line with our Supervisors’ expectations, to continue energizing SMEs and entrepreneurs across Europe.

👩‍💻🧑‍💻 As a Regulatory Compliance Intern at Qonto, you will

Advisory role on Compliance topics: Support all teams at Qonto in their projects and support them on the regulatory requirements to take into consideration. Regular topics include payment institutions’ rules, payment services, outsourcing, data protection, KYC/KYB, regulatory reporting, partnerships, etc.

Engagements with Supervisors: Assist in the handling of queries from Qonto’s supervisory authorities, under the team’s supervision. You will ensure that the Regulatory team provides accurate, precise, and consistent replies to the ACPR, and the authorities in the countries where Qonto is based.

Horizon Scanning: Make sure that Qonto remains up-to-date on new laws & requirements impacting the compliance of our offer and the way we identify and manage risks.

🤝 About your future manager

Your manager will be Alexandre, our Senior Lead Regulatory & Internal Governance.

His background? After initially working for legal & lobbying teams in the banking industry, Alex spent 5 years in Regulatory Compliance on international markets at HSBC, focusing on a wide variety of compliance topics. He is now leading a growing team of 8 talented people at Qonto.

What he can bring to the team? Upon joining Qonto, Alexandre created a collaborative and inspiring team from scratch. His scope not only includes France but also our international markets (Italy, Spain, and Germany). Alexandre is our Data Protection Officer and the one in direct connection with Qonto’s supervisors (ACPR, CNIL, branch regulators), and this strategic position will offer you a lot of visibility on how the world of compliance truly works.

🏅About You

Education: You are passing a Master’s degree specializing in Banking Law, Compliance, Data Protection, or European Law.

Experience: You have prior experience as an intern or apprentice with either a law firm or a financial institution. Experience in another fintech or tech company is a big plus. First-time experience is also welcome!

Mastery: You have strong analytical skills and a critical mind, and you are able to present the findings of your work regardless of the complexity. You have a good understanding of the requirements applicable to Payment or Credit institutions and are ready to continue learning during your internship.

Communication: You are sharp, open-minded, and smooth in communicating regulatory constraints & risks, adjusting content based on audience. You are ready to support all teams at Qonto in their compliance projects, whilst being mindful of the business priorities.

Languages: You are fluent in English and French. Speaking Italian, Spanish or German would be a plus.
