JOB TARGET / RAISON D’ÊTRE

We are looking for an open-minded individual who strives for excellence and delivering quality outputs. You will join the GIS team to improve the production process, itself composed of: connecting image providers APIs, automation of GIS processing, complex geodatabases, production of geographic data, monitoring of algorithms in Machine Learning.

MAIN AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY / PÉRIMÈTRE DE RESPONSABILITÉS

You will be part of a dedicated team that constantly applies GIS processing chains to advance internal algorithm tracking and improves the GIS production process for various products at Earthcube. This team works on all geolocalized data: Satellite Images, Open Source Data, Database, APIs, etc. This means that you will learn from experts within the GIS team and work on cutting-edge topics in close collaboration with the Development team. You will also work in collaboration with our sales, business and product experts to understand development needs.

MAIN ACTIVITIES / ACTIVITÉS PRINCIPALES

Your tasks will include :

• Implementing scripts to automate geospatial processing processes
• Developing and testing new techniques and methods to efficiently manage geographic databases
• Proposing new ideas to improve the performance of current treatments
• Working closely with the Development team and Earthcube’s business experts to understand the needs of the business
• Responding to feasibility studies, and accompanying projects up to customer delivery

INFLUENCE ON RESULTS / DIMENSIONS CARACTÉRISTIQUES

Must-haves:

• Study in the field of geomatics / GIS (Masters degree)
• At least 6 months to 1 year of geomatics-related development experience (internships, online courses, personal projects, etc.)
• Experience with geographic databases: PostGIS, PostGRE, SQLExperience in Python programming language applied to GIDatabase architecture : UML, LucidChartExcellent organizational skills and autonomy

Nice-to-haves:

• Using AWS, GCloud or AzureKnowledge of optical image classification / radar classification
• Skills in Elasticsearch and JSExperience working in a start-up environment
