Why do we need a Associate Lead Rendering & Platforms ?
We are seeking an Associate Lead for the Rendering & Platform team to oversee a small group of two engineers and drive the successful delivery of our visual and technical goals. In this role, you will manage day-to-day planning in partnership with Production, provide technical guidance, and contribute hands-on to development—ensuring high-quality visuals on PC and consoles while maintaining performance targets.
You will collaborate closely with technical leads across engine, tools, and gameplay, as well as with Art and World-Building teams, to help realize our visual ambitions using Unreal Engine. Together, you will ensure performance, stability, and consistency across all target platforms.
Team Leadership & Coordination
Support day-to-day management of rendering and platform engineers
Assist in task planning, prioritization, sprint execution, and milestone tracking
Mentor junior engineers and foster growth, collaboration, and technical ownership
Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and long-term architectural planning
Rendering & Engine Development
Implement and optimize modern rendering features within Unreal Engine (e.g., Lumen/Nanite workflows, material systems, post-processing)
Profile and optimize GPU/CPU performance and memory usage across multiple hardware targets
Partner with art and technical art teams to translate visual goals into performant UE-based systems
Platform & Systems Support
Ensure Unreal Engine performance, compliance, and stability across console and PC platforms
Support platform-specific features, SDK updates, and UE version integrations
Collaborate with build, CI, and tools teams to maintain a robust development environment
Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration
Work closely with design, audio, and gameplay teams to integrate rendering and platform features
Communicate technical constraints and recommendations clearly to non-engineering stakeholders
Take ownership of the rendering & platforms topics on the project
Drive performance topics & spread best practices accross the team
hands on work on existing & new rendering & platform features
Plan the work of the team for next project stages

Mandatory
5+ years of professional experience in rendering development
Shipped at least one project on PC & consoles using Unreal Engine
Strong proficiency in C++ and modern rendering APIs (DirectX 12, Vulkan, etc.)
Experience with GPU performance optimization and graphics debugging tools
Solid understanding of rendering pipelines, shading, and real-time graphics techniques
Strong communication and coordination skills
Nice to have
Previous leadership, mentorship, or feature ownership experience
Experience modifying or extending Unreal Engine source
Knowledge of platform certification/submission processes
Experience with ray tracing, temporal rendering pipelines, and HDR workflows
Passion for visuals, performance, and pushing technical boundaries
