Launcher Avionics AIT and Method Engineer

As part of the “On-Board Avionics” team, you will be responsible for supporting the Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) activities of launcher avionics systems, and developing/maintaining the associated methods and processes to ensure safe, efficient, and traceable operations.

You will contribute to the definition and continuous improvement of AIT procedures, tools, and documentation. Your work will support the full avionics development lifecycle, from component-level integration to system validation.

You will evolve in an Agile and multi-disciplinary environment requiring adaptability, collaboration, and a strong hands-on and methodical approach.

Your main tasks:

  • Directly perform and support hands-on integration and test activities for avionics equipment and systems (EGSE, harnesses, sensors, flight computers, etc.), in lab and vehicle environments.

  • Define, maintain and execute assembly, integration and functional test procedures for avionics components and systems.

  • Work closely with design, system, software, and test teams to align on integration sequences, hardware interfaces, and validation requirements.

  • Design and improve test setups, benches, and custom tools needed for integration and diagnostics.

  • Investigate and troubleshoot anomalies on electronic hardware and test setups, using instrumentation and diagnostic tools.

  • Participate in non-conformance analysis and root cause identification, implementing corrective actions where applicable.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of integration and test methods with a pragmatic, field-oriented mindset.

  • Ensure proper documentation, traceability and configuration control of test activities and hardware/software setups.

  • Support scheduling and coordination of integration/test operations with a strong sense of ownership.

Requirements:

🛸General competences & abilities:

  • Structured and methodical approach to technical problem-solving.

  • Ability to work hands-on in avionics integration and testing environments.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills across technical teams.

  • Adaptability to evolving systems and Agile development frameworks.

  • Rigorous attention to process consistency, quality, and documentation.

🛸Preferred skills and experience:

  • Experience in avionics AIT, preferably in space or aerospace systems.

  • Knowledge of electrical integration, harnessing, EGSE, and flight electronics.

  • Familiarity with standard testing tools: oscilloscopes, power supplies, bus analyzers, signal generators, process calibrators, etc.

  • Experience working in PLC-controlled environments, or with National Instruments platforms (or equivalent test environments).

  • Competence in writing procedures, reports, and integration documentation.

  • Understanding of systems engineering, configuration management, and validation processes.

  • Awareness of relevant standards (ECSS, DO-160, DO-254, ISO 9001, etc.).

  • Experience with issue tracking systems, digital twins or integration planning tools is a plus.

🎓Qualification:

Engineering degree in avionics, electronics, aerospace, or related fields.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in integration, test, or methods engineering.
