Join MaiaSpace, a European space tech company focused on designing and manufacturing sustainable solutions for space mobility. As a member of the Launcher Dynamics Modelling team, you will be responsible for elaborating mechanical loads along the trajectory and supporting the synthesis of launcher environments. Your work will involve dynamics FE analyses, dynamics synthesis, overseeing subcontracted work, and contributing to the overall launch system definition. You should have a strong background in dynamics and FE modelling, proficiency in programming languages, and a passion for technical excellence.

MaiaSpace is a European space tech company, designing, manufacturing and operating competitive and sustainable solutions for space mobility. We are driven by the belief that access to space is a major enabler for a better and more sustainable life on Earth, addressing the challenges faced by humanity: climate, resources, connectivity, and data. Our aim is to successfully design and test a cost-effective and reusable mini-launch vehicle by 2026.
Launcher Dynamics modelling
Inside MaiaSpace development teams you will join the team that elaborates the mechanical loads along the trajectory for the other development teams.
Within your multidisciplinary team you will support the synthesis of the launcher environments at MaiaSpace on the field of dynamic responses and solicitations on the launcher. Your scope of work includes the launcher and load-cases modelling, the simulation campaigns up to the result’s delivery and synthesis to other development teams.
In this perimeter your responsibilities will include:
Dynamics FE analyses
Finite Element modelling & structures simplifications for dynamic studies (using Hypermesh)
Definition of the FEM management policy in interaction with other teams
Load case modelling: induced loads and vibrations on the launcher, by engine and aerodynamic
Modal, transient & harmonic responses, using Nastran (MSC).
Launcher dynamic simulation platform development: Pre/post-processing and analyses tools (Hypermesh/Hyperview, Nastran MSC, Python)
Dynamics synthesis
Elaborate and manage the general databases of launcher environments
Define dynamics requirements toward stages and parts teams, incl. Equipment
Support the teams’ tests for measures definition and exploitation.
Overseeing of subcontracted work in your responsibility field
Scope of work definition
Contract management and follow-up
Delivery acceptance.
Contribution to the overall launch system definition
Contribute to the engineering effort of your team and cross-functionally between teams, even if it involves work outside your main field of action, in order to contribute to the vehicle system synthesis.
Requirements:
🛸 Specific competences & abilities:
Proficiency in programming languages (Python) & commercial software for FE (HyperMesh) and solvers (MSC NASTRAN).
Good level of English
Team spirit, sharing & solidarity
Curiosity, Adaptation, Pragmatism
Rigor and precision
🎓 Qualification:
Engineer, specialization in aerospace preferred.
Level : 3 to 5 years’ experience in dynamics, FE modelling
