As a Legal Trainee, your role involves fostering a legal mindset throughout the firm, advising various teams, and resolving legal issues. Your primary focus will be on contractual matters.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn and tackle challenges in a small-to-medium-scale FinTech company within a constantly evolving regulatory environment.


Your responsibilities encompass a broad spectrum, primarily emphasizing contractual and data protection aspects. This includes:

  • Negotiating and drafting contracts for all aspects of the company's activities, such as IT and payment services agreements with client platforms, supplier contracts, strategic partnerships, and data protection agreements.
  • Collaborating with the sales team to respond to requests for proposals.
  • Creating and updating Lemonway template agreements.
  • Handling routine internal corporate operations.
  • Providing legal training to Lemonway operational teams, including the sales team.
  • Managing pre-litigation and monitoring litigation in coordination with our law firms, particularly for contractual disputes.
  • Assisting the legal team with various tasks as needed, such as corporate missions (fundraising, general meetings, supervisory board activities, formalities, internal PoAs, etc.), monitoring insurance policies and intellectual property, conducting internal control reviews, and participating in intra-company projects involving legal and contractual aspects.
  • Offering support to all Lemonheroes for their contractual and other legal inquiries.

Profil recherché

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Strong proficiency in French contractual law, with a solid grasp of corporate law, IT services in SaaS, or equivalent services.
  • Familiarity with banking law, payments compliance, PSD2, AML/CFT, GDPR is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the broader Payment Institutions regulatory framework is considered a plus.
  • Proficient in office automation tools, particularly Microsoft 365 and MS Teams.
  • Adept understanding of the financial industry, e-commerce, and payment landscape.


SOFT SKILLS

  • Demonstrated rigor and attention to detail in your work.
  • Inherent curiosity and a keen desire to comprehend the company's legal environment and various legal concerns.
  • Effective communication skills, both within internal teams and when dealing with external clients and providers.
  • Dedication to minimizing Lemonway's risks across legal, financial, and reputational aspects while safeguarding its interests.
  • A strong team player who collaborates seamlessly but can also work independently with confidence.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to foresee and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • A profound commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Recognized organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Fluency in both French and English is essential. Proficiency in an additional European language (such as Spanish, Italian, or German) is a noteworthy advantage.


EXPERIENCE

  • Possession of a Master 2 degree in Law, specializing in Business law, contractual law, IT or banking law.
