• Apply communications and network concepts to support the design and integration of aircraft cabin and communication network systems.
• Perform and support communications and network testing activities.
• Conduct systems installation design, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting.
• Define high level and detailed network architectures, including interfaces, protocols, and topology.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams across electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering disciplines.
• Support change management through research, concepts, design reviews, trade studies, impact analysis, and implementation.
• Show compliance to 14CFR Part 25, Transport Canada, and EASA aircraft requirements.
• Research specifications for components selections.
• Work with suppliers and internal customers to assist with production and/or flight test personnel, investigating, troubleshooting, and resolution of build and test issues.
• Review installation drawings, qualification test data and reports.
• With guidance, create system schematics, requirements documents, system descriptions, interface documents, wiring diagrams, certification plans, functional test requirements, test plans, test reports, and design compliance reports for new and/or upgraded aircraft systems.
Requirements
• You hold a Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in electrical/avionics system design or related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of communications and network concepts and principles.
• Experience using communications and network test tools and methods.
• Ability to define network architectures, interfaces, protocols, and topology.
• You have a minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical/avionics system design or related field.
• Advanced understanding of communications and network engineering concepts is a plus.
• A working knowledge of applicable regulatory certification rules (FAA, EASA, TCCA) is a plus.
• A working knowledge of Cybersecurity and System Safety aspects of certification is a plus.
• You are proficient with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).
• A working knowledge of electrical, avionics, and wire harness design guidelines for CFR Part 25 aircraft is preferred.
• You must be a self-starter, able to decompose moderately complex projects into individual tasks and processes.
• You must exhibit excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• You should be an organized individual, able to work effectively with a variety of cross-functional individuals, departments and organizations with a general good attitude and disposition.
