At Aria, risk management is a key pillar of our success in the lending fintech industry. Until now, the Risk function has been led by one of our founders to instill a risk culture within the company. As we continue to grow and expand into new markets both vertically and geographically, we are now structuring the Risk function. Additionally, we are building a Risk Committee with external experts to assist Aria in enhancing our risk governance and policies.
As the first member of this team, you will be responsible for leading, structuring the function and implementing risk management policies and procedures. Therefore, for this role, it will be essential that you have a proactive attitude and that you are comfortable with doing things by yourself.
You will directly report to the COO and co-founder and will work closely with the Ops and Data team. As Risk is a core function, you will have contact with all other teams including Sales, CSM, Product, and Design.
As a Risk Manager, there is potential for growth and advancement within the company, including the possibility of transitioning to the role of Head of Risk.
Build
Develop and write all the underwriting policy and internal procedures
Build a risk decision engine with the data team to optimize risk assessment and management
Recruit, structure, and manage a team of risk analysts and other risk management professionals
Manage
Monitor and audit the operations to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
Conduct due diligence on new partners and ensure compliance with risk policies
Provide training and coaching to the team to improve their skills and knowledge
Report
Provide oversight for credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and other risks
Provide regular risk reports to the Board and the Risk Committee
At least 5 years of experience in banking, consulting or related field
Knowledge of risk management principles and practices
Proactive attitude and that you are comfortable with doing things by yourself
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
