Descriptif du poste

At ALDORIA, the SSA Operations team is responsible for monitoring and analyzing space events to ensure the safety of operations. In this role, you will actively contribute to the collection, archiving, and analysis of events, as well as the planning of observations.

Key responsibilities are:

  1. Event Reporting and Documentation

o Catalog space events (launches, maneuvers, debris) and objects of interest in a structured database.

o Document observations: Record and visualize detection and interpretation by our sensor network.

o Draft clear summary reports for internal sharing and decision-making.

  1. Object Behavior Characterization

o Analyze orbital data to characterize the behavior of tracked objects (e.g., trajectory changes, anomalies).

o Contribute to identifying patterns in object movement and operational status.

  1. Data Archiving and Analysis

o Consolidate historical data, updating records with event characteristics (trajectories, alerts, responses).

o Collaborate with analysts to detect trends, anomalies, or emerging risks.

  1. Observation Planning and Catalog Maintenance

o Assist in scheduling observation campaigns for critical events (e.g., launches, high-risk conjunctions).

o Support catalog maintenance: Implement processes to ensure autonomy on targets of interest, including non-public objects.

o Monitor and update entries for new or uncataloged objects, ensuring data accuracy and custody.

Profil recherché

We are looking for a motivated and curious engineering student to join our SSA Operations team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in space activities, data management, and operational coordination. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Education and Background

· Currently enrolled in the last year of an engineering school or master’s degree (aerospace, data science, general engineering, or related fields).

· No prior professional experience required, but a passion for space, astronomy, or data analysis is highly valued.

Technical Skills

· Basic programming knowledge (Python, SQL) for data processing and analysis.

· Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Pandas, or Excel) to support reporting and trend analysis.

· Understanding of orbital mechanics fundamentals (e.g., two-line element sets, Keplerian elements) is a plus.

· Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git) is appreciated but not mandatory.

Personal Qualities

· Analytical mindset: Ability to process and synthesize information, with a keen eye for detail.

· Team player: Comfortable collaborating with colleagues, asking questions, and contributing to group projects.

· Strong communication skills: Ability to document findings clearly and present them to the team.
