Accelerating growth combined with the demand for more structured and strategic communication presents the opportunity to hire a Chief of Brand and Communication Officer.

Reporting to the CEO Office, this position will be responsible for communications in a juxtaposing context, maintaining the balance between the very regulatory side of a player in Insurance and the disruption brought by technology. The major challenge in terms of managerial culture is to maintain the entrepreneurial spirit (speed, enthusiasm, results, management of ambiguity…) while leading and structuring a high performing communications team.

We are looking both for a strategic person who can be hands on.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

This role is part of the Management Team of Wakam and is involved in driving the business. Your role will be to plan, develop and manage the brand strategy as well as the communication work to support the company’s overall strategies and objectives. We want you to ensure that the Wakam brand is communicated in a consistent manner across all channels and touchpoints and specifically in the “Mission / Sustainability” area. Building and structuring the team will be key.

Branding / Mission

• Define and build the Wakam branding platform and narratives:

- Wakam name to become an iconic brand in the Insurance and Tech Landscape in the the UK and Continental Europe

- Wakam name to be deeply linked to its “Mission” identity (“Société à Mission” / B-Corp)

Internal Communication

• Work hand in hand with the CEO Office on supporting Wakam’s unique internal culture

• Support closely the People team to define and manage internal communication touchpoints and rituals to support management’s messages

External Communication

• Develop external communication strategy including roadmap/calendar, channels, tone, editorial line in line with overall company strategy across UK and Continental Europe

• Collaborate with HR on the subject of employer branding

• Define and manage the comms relationship with shareholders, potential investors and the wider community

• Manage press relations, corporate on and offline media, ensuring constant monitoring

• Anticipate, prevent, and manage crisis.

Profile Requirements

• Confirmed experience of at least 10-12 years in communication, within a high growth scaling organization with an emphasis on Mission / Sustainability driven outcomes

• Persuasive, innovative and effective

• Works well in project mode and is capable of broader vision, knowing how anticipate business impact.

• Has a sense of the concrete, the operational

• Recognized for the ability to manage people, motivating and uniting teams around an ambitious objective and achievement.

• Extensive European experience

• Fluent in French & English

• Experience in institutional relations would be a plus
