Their story
VAISALA France: Innovation at the Service of Measurement
Every story begins with a discovery, and ours is linked to the elements! In 1936, in Finland, Vilho Väisälä invented some of the operating principles of a radiosonde, revolutionising meteorological measurement. He founded VAISALA, which became a world leader in environmental and industrial measurement instruments.
In 2018, VAISALA acquired Léosphère, a French company specialising in lidars, founded in 2004 by Alexandre and Laurent Sauvage. Today, VAISALA France develops cutting-edge environmental measurement solutions.
In France, on the Saclay plateau and in Sophia Antipolis in Biot, we work every day to preserve cultural treasures, ensure safe travel and monitor winds.
You may not know our name, but we are here, by your side, working for what matters to you and to everyone.
In France, as in Finland, we share the same mission: to unlock the secrets of the sky to better understand our world.
