ThreatMark is frequently onboarding new customers and partners, which is why we’re looking for a Security Engineer to expand our Security and Fraud Operation Center.

What will your work look like?

You will be part of the team which hunts down cybercriminals and prevents them from stealing our clients’ money. Over the years, we have built up an arsenal of tools that help us detect and takedown various kinds of threats. You would help us by improving these tools, integrating them with each other, and building new ones to expand our detection capabilities.

Besides the development of these tools, you’d also take part in studying emerging-malware families and reverse engineering desktop- and mobile-based malware. There are also plenty of opportunities to make a name for yourself in the cybersecurity world by writing articles for our blog, participating in webinars, or presenting at conferences.

We’re looking for someone who has development experience combined with a passion for cybersecurity, someone who likes coding, fraud prevention, reversing, etc. If you feel full of energy and enthusiasm when you read about a new vulnerability, it would be a plus!

What does the Security Engineer do?

  • Codes and troubleshoots internal tools
  • Improves detection methods
  • Classifies malware
  • Looks for improvements, new ways of operation
  • Delivers in-house or on-site presentation, training, or webinars; creates blogposts
  • Creates technical documentation

Preferred experience

Your interest in the IT Security field is of the highest importance. Your work will also include programming and scripting in Python. We would appreciate it if you could do easy selects and joins within databases. Basic knowledge of Linux and web technologies could help you during adaptations.

  • Backend SW development experience
  • Strong debugging, testing, tuning and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with at least part of our tech stack (see below)
  • Fluent English, both spoken and written (Czech/Slovak could help)
  • Good general overview of the IT world

What is a plus

  • Experience with reverse engineering and/or ethical hacking
  • Experience with presentations, training, or webinars
  • Ability to lead a small team

  • Web security – top vulnerabilities (OWASP)
