SINGULART has turned out to be the leading online art gallery in the world in less than 4 years. We are now moving towards becoming the leading art & design art gallery globally, as SINGULART’s ambition has always been to become a category leader. As a curated marketplace, the Product is at the heart of our business and the most important contributor to our growth. 

We are now looking for an experienced leader to lead the Product vision, the Product team and participate to SINGULART strategy as a member of the Leadership team. Their mission will be to help the company move forward in its next stage of growth, to help shape and be the key evangelist of the product vision. This person must be capable of creating and executing a winning product strategy.

We are looking for a leader with experience in marketplaces/BtoC ecommerce businesses, very committed to our mission to make the art world more inclusive, and creative to find innovative ways to bring value to both our collectors and our creative communities. This person needs to be a change agent and have strong communication skills in order to make every stakeholder commit to the same ambition and vision.

Your scope and role:

  • Own and Diffuse a winning Product vision to inspire (define, refine and iterate), determine a strategy to make it happen, prioritize the Roadmap according to business impact and measure success of features launched.
  • Lead & Build up world-class Product teams: Product Management, Design and User Research. In July we will have 3 squads. Recruit, train, coordinate work processes, animate them, so that your team members become Product evangelists in the company and gather insights efficiently from all stakeholders.
  • Build best practice process & instrumentation to optimize end to end product workflow.
  • Deliver a roadmap that is aligned with our business strategy and revenue targets.
  • Lead your squads to deliver game-changing features and continuous improvements to build a high-quality, differentiated product experience for both collectors and creatives, that in fine generate growth. The ability to generate creative ideas with high impact to transform the art industry is an important asset. You are expected to push ideas that matter to help us build a category leader.
  • Represent the Product at the Steering Committee, impulsing discussion on the experience offered to our users and suggesting product solutions to business opportunities.
  • Concretely, as a member of the Leadership team & Manager you will:

  • Work with the Founders to distill the medium-term vision.
  • Act as the amplifier for the Leadership team’s voice – set vision, goals and help define what success looks like.
  • Be a strong contributor to the culture of the company, as an Executive, this person’s conduct will be used as an example of how someone should operate and behave.
  • Have a strong presence and gravitas and be seen as a natural leader as well as a manager.
  • Up-skill the Product management team by developing them and hiring consistently well for key positions. Where necessary pivot and adjust the structure to meet the various growth stages and product complexity; where necessary adding supporting functions and tools to enable scale (e.g., product operations, product tech stack, data analytics, KPIs and metrics).
  • Deliver products, with high standards of quality and time, from inception to production to end of life, ensuring that Product Management is fully aligned with tactical & strategic goals.
  • and as the Leader of the Product Team, your role will concretly be to:

  • Ensure that product ownership and accountability is clear, that appropriate time is spent on product discovery, feature prioritisation, communications; and that user stories and requirements are delivered to a high standard.
  • Prioritize the right things to do and when - by picking the meaningful impactful problems & opportunities, implementing consistent process for feature triage.
  • Implement best practice reporting and product instrumentation/dashboards to monitor roadmap execution and assess true product costs and quality.
  • Build processes that enable the company to evaluate ideas easily/quickly to spark innovation and value creation.
  • Maintain and strive to improve competitive advantage and product differentiation.
  • Track competition globally, to research what market leaders are doing well, as well as potential broader threats and opportunities.
  • Build detailed profiles of user archetypes - to inform future product features and maximize growth and retention of the user base.
  • Promote best practice in improving and optimising the critical interface and exchanges between product and engineering teams.
  • Our ideal candidate:

  • This person will have executive gravitas and be both a leader and manager of a highly capable product team. They will have previously owned the product function and experienced a rapid growth business in a e-commerce business, and bringing experience with platform strategies and network effects. In detail that means this person:
  • has already been part of an executive team and worked closely with a founding team, in a high-paced environment. We are looking for a strategic thinker with strong business acumen.
  • has exceptional communication skills, written and oral, with excellent presentation, knows how to market concepts and diffuse them - persuasion and negotiation are key skills fot this person to be successful.
  • is obsessed with creating value for end users,
  • is creative and collaborative in their approach to generate ideas while having authority to lead prioritization.
  • knows how to lead, hire, motivate and coach Product teams.
  • brings a proven ability to work with cross functional teams, with all levels of management, with user researchers, design experts and most importantly has strong experience with engineering teams.
  • has experience within a company that has scaled rapidly, but also understands the dynamics of working in a company at our stage of evolution.
  • has experience with platform strategies and how to leverage network effects.
  • ideally has worked in an environment that has a design centric approach to product, and values user research to support data.
  • is able to demonstrate that they are capable of building scalable consistent processes at this stage of an organization development, remains pragmatic when it comes to organizational design
  • demonstrates a strong analytical orientation
  • focuses on data driven analytics/decisioning and an ability to measure success
  • has the capability to Learn fast, and Iterate fast (for example in developing proof of concepts, A/B feature testing etc.)
  • despite the senior level of the role, this person will be down to earth and humble and a team player
  • is fluent in English and has a good level of French (the tech and product teams are French speaking only for now, but the working language at SINGULART is English)
  • has a strong interest for the art and/or design market
  • is willing to come to work in our Paris office every week
  • is eager to evolve in a multicultural environment and to work hard with us to strengthen an inclusive culture
