Scaleway is looking to hire a talented engineer to join our newly-created SRE team.

The SRE team helps other Scaleway teams create and maintain reliable services, to offer a stellar experience to our users.
Therefore, SRE assumes joint service ownership, and can act on most aspects of the service, from conception to measuring stability to tweaking the deployment process.

As an SRE team member, here are some examples of what your day could look like :

• Thinking with metrics, and relying on data to prove your point
• Coordinating an incident response effort
• Lead a product team through a postmortem process, so that we learn from our mistakes
• Review the design for a component that will handle thousands of requests/minute, to ensure best practices are applied, and knowledge is shared
• Define and track SLOs that are meaningful to our users
• Develop an observability feature with a product team
• Work on an internal open source project to keep your skills sharp
• Organize a talk on a technical topic, to learn and share knowledge
• Be free to plan your day

About you

• You love working in a team, and know how to collaborate with people of various backgrounds
• You have developed distributed services
• You have good system administration skills
• You already know, or want to learn the tools we work with (see below)
• You are self-motivated with strong organizational skills
• You are used to operating services in production
• You’re fluent in french and english
