Job description

As a Business Lead  your job will include being a key strategic and business partner for a multinational client across a portfolio of local accounts. You will also actively contribute to new business efforts. 

You will report to the CEO of the agency.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead a portfolio of local accounts 

  • Develop strong client relationships as a key strategic and business partner 

  • Guide the strategic direction in relation to our clients’ omni-channel marketing approach 

  • Assist team in planning activities such as brainstorming, client onboarding, and internal meetings 

  • Play a key role in understanding client business needs and the strategic competencies required to address them, and activating those competencies across multiple business units 

  • Convert client needs into operational actions and drive team work and results accordingly 

 

Client Relationship : 

  • Communicate key client issues/ initiatives to team accurately and in timely manner 

  • Build trusting relationships with client counterparts (marketing departments). Is seen as strategic, integral to the account, and offering added value. 

  • Brand Champion: Ensure everyone focused on brand strategy and positioning: client, account team, and other internal departments 

  • Agency Champion: Understand, communicate and advocate the agency POV; ensure client is kept apprised of all account activity: this includes ultimate responsibility for ensuring that appropriate written reports are delivered accurately and quickly; present complex data or messages in clear, succinct, compelling manner to clients 

  • Lead role in ensuring timely, accurate client documentation & correspondence 

 

Knowledge : 

  • Demonstrate strong expertise in healthcare marketing 

  • Perfect knowledge of the French local healthcare landscape, as well as a good understanding of the global challenges. 

  • Demonstrate and apply extensive and expert knowledge of assigned brands 

  • Successfully serve as point of authority and/or source of advice for therapeutic area 

  • Ensure team adherence to agency process. Identify issues and lead problem resolution  

  • Is familiar with innovation and modern techniques to work and collaborate with clients (service design, design thinking, etc.) 

  • Have a strong experience in data management 

 

Agency Operations : 

  • Finances: Develop and administer clients’ budgets based on accurate estimating and tracking of hours, out-of-pocket expenses and reconciliation against estimates. Raise client awareness as to when changes in client direction affect estimates. Thorough knowledge of contract and its implications. 

  • Trouble shoot: solutions oriented. Know when things might get off track in agency operations. Use experience and judgment to proactively solve for potential problems before they get too big. Ability to solve client issues, independently moderate conflicts and influence management decisions 

  • Team Leadership: take on wider, formal and informal leadership responsibilities within the agency 

  • Management: team leader, provide clear and fair direction & feedback  


Preferred experience

  • 15+ years of business experience in communication agencies and healthcare communication agencies, will have worked on large clients and portfolios 

  • Deep, expert understanding of pharmaceutical and healthcare professionals 

  • Managerial experience required  

  • Great interpersonal skills 

  • Superb and persuasive communications skills, both written and verbal 

  • Adept at storytelling 

  • Able to simplify and clarify complex concepts 

  • Excellent analytical skills 

  • Must have experience leading large teams across multiple brands 

  • Proven new business skills 

  • Financial acumen 

  • Collaborative approach 

  • Strong leadership skills 

  • Creative thinker 

  • Fluent in both French and English mandatory
