The position

Job description

As a product manager at Earthcube, you will be responsible for product management of our GIS and gesopatial internal tool and being integrated in the associated squad. You will extend our internal and external products features according to customers strategic needs, while ensuring their robustness, usability and maintainability. Your missions will include:

  • Take lead of scrum teams as the Product Manager
  • Link the need of Data Scientist to tools to develop in the Geospatial team, especially regarding our annotation pipeline and GIS associated tools
  • Take care of consistent aesthetics and data manipulation routines across EarthCube entire GIS software stack
  • Formalize the roadmap as sprint objectives, assess the results quality, ensure delivery and pilot sprint planning
  • Attend customers meeting and find ways to answer their specific needs by creating common high value features
  • Prioritize GIS development and ensure the balance between short and long term features, frontend and backend progress
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of release/sprint goals

Preferred experience

We are looking for an open-minded individual with impressive skills and a proven track record. Mastering the skills listed below will not be too much to be up to the challenge.

The must-haves:

  • Engineering or GIS degree with knowledge in software engineering
  • At least 3 years experience working with GIS or software as developer or PM
  • Experience working with relational database (SQL, PostGis)
  • Experience in customer relations and business processes digitization
  • Excellent organizational skills and autonomy
  • Willingness to take on challenges, show resiliency and always learn new skills

The nice-to-haves:

  • Experience working with both cloud and on premise stacks
  • Experience working with AI or computer vision product
  • Hands on experience as GIS developer
  • UX/UI ergonomics skills and creativity
  • Experience in startups or high reliability companies (cloud-based services, software providers, aerospace, defense…) with direct responsibility to maintain and improve products, infrastructures and processes would be a very strong asset
