Who are they?

October was born in France in 2014 thanks to a new regulation opening up the banking monopoly. October is an online platform specialised in business lending. The FinTech is leader in continental Europe. Its mission can be sum up in three words: “Finance businesses better”. “Better” as simpler, faster, more efficient and accessible.

The idea is simple: companies can borrow up to 5 million euros directly on the platform from retail (28,000 are regularly lending) and institutional lenders. The company can test its eligibility in two minutes, receives an offer within 24-48 hours and the funds within 7 days. October has already financed thousands of SMEs in France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Germany.

Since the end of 2020, October has been offering its October Connect technology platform to banks (such as Bpifrance) and asset managers to help them make better financing decisions thanks to data.

October is part of the Next40 - the 40 most promising French scale-ups (a label awarded by the French government) - and among its current shareholders are Allianz, CNP Assurances, CIR Group, Decaux Frères Investissement, Eurazeo and Partech.

Job description

The October team is expanding and we are looking for our first Account Manager for our Saas BtoB solution!

You are a tech-savvy, financially aware and French speaking professional with experience in SaaS account management / customer success? This mission is for you!

At October (, we’re reinventing financing for small businesses. We’re making loans easy, smart and fast, by creating a platform directly connecting companies and lenders, offering competitive rates and returns on both sides.

October was founded in 2014. Since then, we raised more than €50M and lent €700M to more than 2,000 companies in France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and Germany.

Today we’re a team of 110, spread in 5 European offices (Paris, Madrid, Milan, Amsterdam and Munich).

What you will be doing as Account Manager?

In 2020 we launched a new activity: October Connect , which is our SME-lending platform made available to other financial institutions.

We have developed 2 modules: a Fraud and a Risk module that can be used by any financial institutions to improve financial risk analysis, fraud detection and decision automation.

As the first Account Manager of October Connect, your missions will include:

  • Onboarding and education skills: ramp up clients quickly and efficiently – meet their requirements and set clear expectations. Manage a portfolio of clients: understand client needs/requirements in order to provide forward thinking business recommendations and appropriate product/service(s) education
  • Customer support: helping them in their questions and problems. Create a feedback loop for the Product team. Monitor customer support efforts.
  • Customer community animation: creation of content, organisation of events, etc. Establish and maintain regular and appropriate communication with the key contact(s) via meetings, emails, visio
  • Up-sell: identify new sales opportunities within existing accounts. Shape, iterate, and scale our expansion strategy, taking initiative to improve the team’s practices, tools, and content
  • Problem solving orientated: Interact and coordinate with the product & sales team to provide feedback & request from client.
  • Organisational skills: maintain CRM, market benchmark, etc.
  • Leadership and project management: supporting our clients in their adoption of a new product doesn’t scare you and you are ready to build a team that will count significantly in October’s P&L.

Preferred experience

The required essentials :

  • You have min. 2 years of experience in sales in a Saas / tech environment in Account Management or Customer Success
  • You share our passion for this product, and want to be deeply involved in its success
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English - a third language (Spanish, Italian, Dutch or German) is a plus
  • You are passionate about technology and like working with digital tools
  • Advanced communication skills (oral and written) and talented in creating trust and spreading good vibes
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit, positive attitude and you love working with people
  • Quick learner and can work effectively in an ever-changing scale-up environment
  • Proactive mindset and excellent time management skills
  • Resilience and can take the pressure: senior management exposure externally and internally

Salary :

  • Fixed salary with a bonus according to sales objectives reached. A portion of your variable can reach 140% depending on your performance and annual results.
