The position

Job description

API development teams build MANGOPAY API applications. They are fast growing teams, with currently 4 teams of 3 to 6 people, several newcomers expected by the end of 2021 and several open positions, reaching 20 people by the end of 2021 and more than 30 people in 2022.As a VP Engineering, you will lead this department (with currently 5 direct reports) and partner with the CTO to define and lead the technical strategy of the company. 

The post is based in Paris, France with up to 4 days a week remote.

Your missions: 

  • Lead API development teams in delivering great software : ensure software delivery with high quality standards, collaborate with tech teams, product teams and other departments to be aligned with company objectives
  • Build and scale the dev teams (recruitment, collaboration between teams…)
  • Provide guidance to teams in structuring technical choices. Organise our applications architecture evolutions (discovery, roadmap, communication at MANGOPAY)
  • Accompany leads and team members in improving their skills and developing their careers

Example of recent projects led by development teams:

  • 3DS2 implementation
  • New object storage 
  • Micro-service creation to improve  fraud and compliance alerts treatment

Stack

Apps are developed with C# .NET /.NET Core. Our stack also includes SQL Server, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ and Redis.


Preferred experience

  • Experience
    • you have more than 10 years of work experience in development
    • you have a successful experience in a management position, leading several teams in a scale up environnement 
  • Leadership: you have very good communication and interpersonal skills, to pass your vision on to teams
  • Technical Expertise: you have worked on complex systems, with scalability challenges.  Ideally you have experience in the payment domain. You are skilled at architecturing complex technical projects.
  • Drive change management: you can scale teams in a fast-paced environment 
  • Languages: You are fluent in French and have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
