As a Senior Product Designer at Malt, you'll be instrumental in shaping the future of our AI-powered platform, impacting the experiences of both clients and freelancers. You'll be at the forefront of designing innovative, intuitive, and seamless product experiences that truly empower freelancers and businesses to connect and thrive.

In this role, you will enable clients to autonomously manage their projects and financial workflows, facilitate quote creation on Malt for freelancers and ensure they are paid as fast as possible, creating seamless solutions with a real-world impact on people's professional lives.

Key responsibilities ✨

  • Define experience strategy: Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to shape experience strategy, influence roadmaps, and deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Lead end-to-end design: Drive key product initiatives from initial problem framing through high-fidelity prototyping and final implementation.
  • Run User Research and champion user needs: Conduct and synthesize user research (qualitative and quantitative) to gain deep insights, consistently advocating for the needs of both freelancers and clients in all design decisions.
  • Apply a service design approach: leverage service design methodology, principles and tools to ensure a cohesive and efficient experience across all touchpoints.
  • Deliver high-quality design: Craft intuitive and elegant solutions, guided by strong rationale, that effectively solve complex interaction problems.
  • Evolve the Design System: Develop and steward our design system, ensuring a cohesive and consistent user experience across the entire product ecosystem.
  • Inspire design excellence: Foster a culture of design excellence within the team by encouraging collaboration, promoting continuous learning, and sharing best practices.
  • Communicate design rationale: Clearly articulate and present your design rationale and decisions to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring alignment and buy-in.
  • About you 🧑‍🚀

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a high level of strategic thinking and craft.
  • A strong understanding of SaaS platforms and enterprise software, and a proven track record of shipping successful B2B products that have solved complex user problems and delivered measurable business value.
  • Deep expertise in user-centered design principles and a genuine passion for creating exceptional product experiences.
  • Proficiency in relevant design and prototyping tools such as Figma 
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate parts of the product design process.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence cross-functional partners.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to think holistically about the user journey and the broader product ecosystem.
  • A collaborative spirit and a desire to be part of a high-performing, ego-free team.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and comfort with iterative product development.
  • Fluency in English is required.

  • First call with Alex, our Talent Acquisition Manager, to better understand your background, aspirations and answer any questions you may have. (30-45 minutes)
  • Interview with your future manager Caroline Caltagirone and/or our VP of Design, Stefanie Fleisch, to delve into your experience and the specifics of the role. (45 minutes)
  • Deep Dive session with your future manager and members of the Design Team, where you will present a case study from your portfolio and work on a whiteboard design challenge (90 minutes).
  • Cross-functional collaboration interview with one member of the Product Management team and one member of the Engineering team. (45 minutes)
  • Final interview with the CPO, Belén Alomar, to discuss Malt’s long-term vision in terms of experience and the future of Design at Malt (30 min)
