Job description

Who We Are

Inato is a Tech for Good company striving to bring clinical research to each and every patient, regardless of who they are or where they live. To do this, we are building the world's first clinical trial platform to create greater visibility, access, and engagement across a more diverse population of doctors and their patients.

Drug development is a challenging, intellectually complex, and rewarding endeavor: we enable global pharmaceutical companies to confidently partner with community-based researchers to increase patient access to the latest medical innovations. Our AI-powered platform currently offers clinical trials from leading companies to over 5,500 sites across the globe and we are well poised for growth in 2025.

We are a growing team of passionate pharmaceutical experts, software and AI engineers, professional services members, and many more—all bringing their unique perspectives to solve the challenges facing clinical research.

Inato is the recent recipient of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2024, Fierce Healthcare’s Fierce 15, and Built In's Best Places to Work 2025.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) based in France to provide end-to-end leadership across HR operations, compliance, and employee relations. You will report to our VP of Finance & People and serve as the primary HR expert for our French entity (~65 employees globally, half based in France).

This role requires someone who can take ownership of their scope with autonomy and minimal HR oversight, while partnering with business leaders to drive organizational health. You’ll ensure compliance with French labor law, lead employee relations and performance management processes to uphold our high bar for talent.

In addition, you’ll partner with our People Experience Manager (US-based) to maintain a consistent employee experience globally, and with our Sr Director of Talent Acquisition to ensure a seamless employee journey from hiring through development and growth. You will also contribute to cultural stewardship and may take part in ad hoc People projects as opportunities arise.

Responsibilities

  • HR Operations & Compliance

    • Own all French HR administration: contracts, onboarding/offboarding, payroll, parental leave, and benefits systems (Payfit, Benefiz, Swile).

    • Serve as the internal expert on French labor law; ensure compliance and manage employee relations issues directly.

    • Lead and manage the Comité Social et Économique (CSE).

  • Leadership & Employee Experience

    • Lead performance management processes beyond administration, including calibration meetings and manager enablement.

    • Take ownership of cultural stewardship in partnership with the People team and leadership.

    • Partner with the US People Experience Manager to maintain a consistent, engaging global employee experience.

  • Strategic HR Partnering

    • Collaborate with business leaders on org design and change management initiatives.

    • Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure smooth handoffs across the employee lifecycle.

    • Contribute to cross-functional People initiatives and ad hoc People projects

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of HR experience, with at least 3 years as an HR Business Partner.

  • Proven ability to take ownership of scope and independently manage HR operations in a lean environment.

  • Deep expertise in French labor law and HR administration.

  • Strong experience in employee relations, performance management, manager coaching, and cultural stewardship.

  • Ability to partner effectively with executives and cross-functional leaders to drive organizational health.

  • Fluency in French and English (written and spoken).

  • Proven experience leading CSE activities (e.g., elections, consultations).

  • Comfort with GDPR-compliant handling of employee data and HR systems.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in a startup or scale-up environment strongly preferred.

  • Exposure to U.S. or international HR practices.

Benefits

  • Remote-first philosophy & flexible hours

  • Top-of-the-line equipment

  • Modern free health insurance (Benefiz)

  • Compensatory time off (RTT)

  • Lunch vouchers (Swile)

  • Gym membership (Gymlib)

  • Free books & learning material
