The position

Job description

Main duties

Reporting to the International Financial Controller (dotted line to Senior Treasury Manager), your responsibilities will be as follows, but not limited to: 

  • Assisting in daily accounting tasks, including posting journals, accruals, prepaid expenses for the head-office branch in the Netherlands,

  • Supporting in preparing monthly reporting packs and other reporting formats,

  • Assisting in keeping balance sheet accounts clean,

  • Supporting in balance sheet reconciliations between various entities of the company,

  • Assisting in preparing financial reports,

  • Supporting other accounting teams in performing accounting tasks,

  • Daily support in setting up payments, vendor profiles, payment approval matrices for subsidiaries and branches, making sure payment batches are processed timely,

  • Daily monitoring of the bank balances of various entities, execution of inter-company and inter-subsidiary transfers as part of treasury function,

  • Monitoring the finance administration email inbox, including communication with suppliers,

  • Processing supplier invoices, expense claims and payments for various offices of the company,

  • Supporting in monitoring the flow of supplier invoices in the accounts payable management system and filing of bank templates,

  • Preparing reconciliations on specific payment accounts,

  • Assisting in opening new bank accounts and collection KYC documents,

  • Assisting in internal/ external audits,

  • Maintaining good relationship with internal and external stakeholders,

  • Other ad-hoc activities as required.


Preferred experience

Preferred experience / Education / Job requirements

  • MBO/ HBO degree required with at least 2 years of experience within Finance and/or Accounting Department of an international company,

  • Experience of working in international environment and effective communication with colleagues located around the world.

Skills

  • Finance and/ or Accounting qualifications,

  • Flexible attitude, attention to detail, problem solving skills, no nine to five mentality,

  • Pro-active, independent and quick learner, ability to determine priorities,

  • Able to work with deadlines (especially during month-end closing),

  • Experience with ERP systems, problem solving skills,

  • Willing to travel internationally occasionally,

  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office with advanced experience in Excel usage).

Languages required

  • English fluent (excellent verbal and written communication skills),

  • Dutch – a significant advantage,

  • French, Italian, Spanish, German, Polish – might be useful.

This is a full time position based in Amsterdam & flexible hybrid working model.
