Job description

Main duties

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Credit Controller fluent in French and English to join our Finance team. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for managing credit risk, securing timely collections, and ensuring the accuracy of accounts receivable records. Your goal is to protect the company’s cash flow while maintaining strong relationships with our clients across the French and international markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Control & Collections (Main Focus)

  • Monitor and manage outstanding receivables across multiple customer accounts.

  • Conduct regular credit checks and risk assessments to define customer credit limits.

  • Follow up on overdue payments by phone, email, and written reminders in both French and English.

  • Negotiate payment plans and resolve billing disputes in collaboration with sales and customer service.

  • Recommend accounts for escalation, legal action, or write-offs when necessary.

  • Ensure adherence to internal credit policy and procedures.

Accounts Receivable Support

  • Validate and process customer invoices.

  • Apply incoming payments and perform account reconciliation.

  • Collaborate with the accounting team during month-end close to ensure accurate reporting of receivables and provisions.

  • Maintain updated customer records, credit limits, and contact details.

Reporting, Analysis & Strategic Responsabilities

  • Prepare and analyze aging reports and cash collection forecasts.

  • Track KPIs such as DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and collection rates.

  • Contribute to the improvement of collection and AR processes.

  • Design and implement the company’s credit policy and collection strategy, aligned with business objectives.

  • Set up KPIs and dashboards to monitor credit exposure and collection efficiency.

  • Identify areas for process improvement and automation, and lead or support relevant projects.

  • Advise senior management on credit risk trends and contribute to cash flow planning.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, and Finance teams to balance risk and growth.

Skills

  • Proven experience (6-10 years) in credit control or accounts receivable, preferably in an international environment.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, able to manage difficult conversations professionally.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work autonomously.

  • Solid understanding of financial processes and credit risk.

  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle, etc.).

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

  • French and English: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
