The position

Job description

At Dataiku, we're not just adapting to the AI revolution, we're leading it. Since our beginning in Paris in 2013, we've been pioneering the future of AI with a platform that makes data actionable and accessible. With over 1,000 teammates across 25 countries and backed by a renowned set of investors, we're the architects of Everyday AI, enabling data experts and domain experts to work together to build AI into their daily operations, from advanced analytics to Generative AI.

Headquartered in New York City, Dataiku was founded in Paris in 2013 and achieved unicorn status in 2019. Now, more than 1,000+ employees work across the globe in our offices and remotely. Backed by a renowned set of investors and partners including CapitalG, Tiger Global, and ICONIQ Growth, we’ve set out to build the future of AI.

Internship goal

Assess the extent to which a recent artificial intelligence technique is relevant for a use case and create technical assets to help Dataiku customers leverage it.

Detailed description

This is a golden age for business AI applications, thanks to a frantic rate of scientific research, a culture of openness with many scientific publications, models and software libraries freely available, and more and more results directed towards concrete, practical tasks. At Dataiku, we strive to help our customers take advantage of new AI techniques, not years but months or even weeks after their emergence.

In this context, the purpose of the internship is to study a recently published AI technique, test it in a realistic setting and disseminate technical assets (a blog post and a sample project) enabling Dataiku users to leverage this technique for concrete real-life use cases. The technique focused on during the internship will be determined a few weeks before the internship. For example, the topic of a similar internship last year was the use of Large Language Models to interact with the world through external tools.

During this internship, you will:

  • Study the academic literature related to an emerging AI technique;

  • Test it in the context of a fictitious use case that can easily be transposed to a wide range of companies;

  • Create a public demo and a blog post to illustrate this technique;

  • Present these technical assets internally to our data scientists and sales engineers;

  • If such opportunities arise, participate in a proof-of-concept project with a Dataiku customer.

Requirements

  • Currently in the first or second year of a Master’s program in Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics that includes courses in Artificial Intelligence and Programming
  • Curiosity, willingness to experiment and navigate in uncharted waters

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Good understanding of Machine Learning (at the level of a university-level introductory course)

  • Good understanding of Large Language Models (at the level of a university-level introductory course)

  • Python proficiency
