People in Need (PIN) is one of the largest non-profit organizations in the Central and Eastern Europe region working in the field of humanitarian and development aid, promotion of human rights and social inclusion. Currently, over 2400 employees work for the Humanitarian and Development Section of People in Need in 23 countries on 3 continents.
Junior Support Communication Officer for CAD is mainly responsible for development of audiovisual products including articles, videos and social media posts. She/ he ensures that all the communication outputs will appear on PIN communication channels. She/he also supports the communication of topics connected with PIN work, including the development of country program communication strategies and activity plans, supports preparation of visibility parts of project proposals and assuring that donors visibility is followed, and other communication/fundraising campaigns. Junior Support Communication Officer is part of Communication and Advocacy team and closely cooperates with its members.
The Support Communication Officer reports to the Head of CAD her/his line manager. She/he closely cooperates with other members of CAD and other departments such as Knowledge and Learning Department (KLD) or Fundraising (FND). She/he closely cooperates with other PIN departments such as Media department, One World, One World in Schools, Varianty, and others such as Legal, IT, Finance etc.
Main responsibilities
To manage editing/translation/proofreading and ensure the quality of articles and prepare subtitles/captions for videos prepared by country programmes
To support the website administration (inserting content on the website), mainly for Czech audience
Preparing full content for social networks, mainly for Czech audience
Help with postproduction of communication and visibility products – editing photos editing videos and working with subtitles is an advantage
Providing guidance on PIN country programmes visibility in line with PIN donors Communication and Visibility guidelines
To co-organize events, exhibitions, debates etc. of CAD
To follow new trends in communication of development/humanitarian topics. Contributes to innovative approach of communication.
Management and planning
Supports coordination of Country Programmes (CP) communication activities in the Czech Republic and Europe (anniversaries, events, workshops etc.);
Communicates with donors and project partners;
Monitors project indicators;
Is responsible for reporting and planning to the line managers;
Coordination with external suppliers (e.g. surveys, PR agencies).
Representation & External Relations
Is formally as well as informally networking and developing partnerships with all relevant stakeholders (government, media, universities, private sector, NGO sector) in the Czech Republic and Europe;
Formally represents PIN at relevant meetings, events and seminars.

High communication skills (mainly in writing)
Ability to write clear and engaging text in Czech and English
Excellent written Czech, ability to write without grammatical errors
Ability to translate text from English to Czech and vice versa and positive approach to translating
Ability to edit videos and work with subtitles is an advantage
Ability to film and take videos is an advantage
Able to work independently as well as in the team
Ability to work under time pressure
Interest in humanitarian and development issues and the regions where People In Need operate
Fluent in English and Czech
