The position

Job description

The General Accountant will be responsible for delivering the department objectives, as part of the Finance team, focusing on completing management accounts and analyzing royalty data within the given deadlines. They will also play a part in the wider Finance team helping to support the Head of Finance.

  1. Monthly Management Accounts
  • Timely preparation of the monthly Management Accounts.
  • Review operating costs, accruals and prepayments.
  • Consolidation into one set of group Management Accounts.
  • Liaison with Royalty Team to ensure income postings are completed, and ensure intercompany recharges are posted to subsidiary company ledgers.
  1. Bank Reconciliations
  • Management of all company bank accounts in the ledger, reconciling transactions across all payment platforms, including reconciling outbound royalty payments.
  • Communicate effectively with artists, writers, managers and business clients at all levels.
  1. Statutory Accounts & Audit
  • Preparation of the Trial Balances for each Sentric Group company, to deliver to external accountants for Statutory Accounts and CT Returns to be completed, as well as providing required schedules and backup to support the trial balance.
  • Provide support to external auditors.
  1. Compliance
  • VAT registrations and returns, Confirmation Statements and other statutory reporting.
  • Responsible for Repertoire Research workflow ensuring capacity isn’t exceeded and business priorities are considered.
  • Preparation of Annual Budget and Re-Forecast, looking at KPIs driving performance, modelling expected trends, updating and reviewing of KPIs
  • Drive new business growth through the identification of new opportunities and client acquisition.
  1. Payments
  • Assisting in the client payment process and ensuring payments are correctly applied to client accounts.
  • Creation or approval of payments in banking systems.

Preferred experience

  • You have a relevant experience in accounting and strong analytical skills
  • CIMA/ACCA Qualified or part qualified
  • You also have good skills in Prioritisation, Organisation and Deadline Management
  • You have strong Excel skills
  • You have worked in international contexts, such as working for an affiliate or subsidiary reporting to international HQ outside of the UK Sage X3 experience preferred
  • You are positive and have a problem-solving orientation and
  • Enthusiast for working with customers/suppliers and the wider business at all levels
