As a Senior Quantum Experimentalist at Alice & Bob, you will be at the frontline of our cutting-edge cat-qubit processor development. In essence, your role will be to drive improvements and innovations of our processors to keep pushing the state-of-the-art with cat qubits. You will be in charge of measuring, characterizing, and optimizing our quantum circuits and gates. Furthermore, you'll play a pivotal role in improving our experimental setup and tools, driving advancements that ultimately enhance the performance of our cat-qubit processors. You will have the opportunity to work together with other top-level scientists and present the scientific research of the company externally. As a member of the Chip Design department, you will leverage your strong background in quantum mechanics to help us further optimize our cat qubits through the close interaction with device theorists. Furthermore, with your experience and expertise, you will help mentoring junior experimentalists.

Responsibilities:

  • Measure, characterize in-depth, and fine tune quantum circuits and quantum gates.
  • Carry in-depth analysis of experimental data to improve our theoretical modeling.
  • Drive new circuit / gate designs and measurement methods from ideas to experimental validation and integration in cat-qubit quantum processors
  • Contribute to the improvement of the experimental setups and tools.
  • Contribute to the expansion of the knowledge base of Alice & Bob and the continuous training of junior experimentalists.
  • Report on experimental results internally and externally.
  • Manage external collaborations.
  • Requirements:

  • We are looking for postdoc level scientists or Phd with 2+ years of experience of experimental work in quantum mechanics, preferably in the field of superconducting quantum circuits.
  • Microwave control and measurement of superconducting quantum circuits
  • Data analysis and comparison to theory or numerical simulations (preferably with Python)
  • Circuit design and simulation
  • Quantum gate design and benchmarking
  • Quantum error correction protocols
  • Scientific Writing
