As Akur8 continues to expand, we’re looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to help improve our security posture and manage internal IT duties (e.g. access management, endpoints, …).  

You’ll join the Cloud, IT and Security team, integrating into the SecOps & IT squad, whose mission it is to build, deploy and operate operational security controls as well as manage the internal IT. 

As part of the team you can expect to:

  • Join a small team focused on autonomy and expertise for collective growth and success.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration on various topics such as application security, cloud security, and IT.
  • Explore innovative solutions including commercial, open-source, and in-house tools for efficiency and improvement.
  • Contribute to automation efforts to achieve the department's objectives.
  • Participate in a continuous improvement process to maintain high standards and work with a modern, evolving tech stack in a department focused on building innovative products.

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, your typical set of missions include:

  • Developing, implementing, and operating security tools to detect and mitigate vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, or suspicious activities ( (e.g. Vulnerability scans, DAST, CSPM, SIEM,..)
  • Collaborating with Cloud Operation & DevOps teams to secure cloud infrastructure and integrate security tools into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Working with development teams to integrate security into development processes, conduct penetration tests, and code reviews to enhance product security.
  • Participating in projects to enhance internal IT, including mobile device management, single sign-on, and endpoint configuration automation.
  • Managing day-to-day operations, including investigating security events, monitoring vulnerabilities, and processing IT requests.
  • Managing global internal IT policies across five offices, including inventory management and new hire onboarding.
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities.

  • AWS, Docker, AWS security services (e.g. GuardDuty, IAM, …), Datadog SIEM & ASM, Prowler, Sonarcloud, Okta, Github, VMware Workspace one, Tenable, Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence), Apple devices (Macbook, Iphone), SaaS tools

Requirements

For this key role within our Cloud, IT and Security team team we’re keen to speak to applicants that meet the following criteria. You have:

  • A minimum of 2 years professional experience in at least one of: 
    • Application security; 
    • Public cloud security; 
    • Penetration tests; 
    • Technical security audits; 
    • CI/CD pipeline security; 
    • Security incidents detection & response
  • General knowledge of (and expertise in at least one of) the following subjects:
    • Public cloud security;
    • Web application security (common vulnerabilities, exploitation techniques and secure coding best-practices); 
    • CI/CD pipeline and deployment orchestration security  
    • Systems and network security in general;
    • IT management (e.g. SSO, MDM, MacOS …)
  • Comfortable with Python and / or Bash;
  • Strong will to learn and deep dive on activities or technologies you may not yet master yet (e.g. public cloud security)
  • Excellent communication skills and a team spirit for interaction with our Development and Cloud Operation squads
  • You are pragmatic, autonomous, proactive and solution-oriented
  • A fluent level of spoken English

BONUS

  • Hands on experience with public cloud (preferably AWS or Azure);
  • Github actions, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and / or CI/CD pipelines; 
  • Experience in IT management;
  • French language skills
