The position

Job description

Zama is a cryptography company building open source homomorphic encryption tools for developers. Our technology enables a broad range of use cases, from confidential smart contracts to encrypted machine learning and privacy-preserving cloud applications 🔒. Zama was founded by Pascal Paillier and Rand Hindi, and has more than 60 researchers and engineers in its team.

As a Homomorphic Encryption Researcher, you will:

  • Discover new cryptographic techniques to compute on encrypted data;

  • Work with the engineering and product teams to implement your research into our products;

  • Design robust tests and benchmarks to validate your research and its implementation;

  • Review the latest published research and inform the team on potential new applications;

  • Work with the entire team to define the research and product roadmaps;

  • Publish papers, file patents, and present your work at both industry and academic events and conferences.


Preferred experience

You will have:

  • A PhD in cryptography or equivalent;

  • Deep knowledge of homomorphic encryption;

  • Optional: knowledge of LWE hardness and security;

  • Optional: knowledge of machine learning;

  • Good written and oral communication skills;

  • A passion for privacy and open source software.
