Yubo
Sharone joined Yubo in March 2021. It was a big turning point in her career, because until then she had exclusively been working in law firms. And actually Yubo had been one of her clients for several years. She had the opportunity to see Yubo evolve from a team of five people to a real scale up and I was convinced of the project and its ambition from the start. The project responds in a relevant and innovative way to the current challenges of social platforms; and above all that it does so with values and a vision in which she believes in. So she didn't hesitate for a sec to take up this challenge when it came up!
Benjamin has been part of Yubo since 2020. Prior to this, he spent over 10 years learning and growing as a designer in the tech industry, with a focus on the B2C market, including 7 years at Google. He joined Yubo because of his interest in social media and his desire to have a direct impact on millions of people every day. Additionally, after working in big tech companies, he wanted to work for a smaller, more "human-sized" business where people actually try things rather than spending endless hours in meetings. His job at Yubo involves ensuring that any projects the team works on are integrated in a logical and holistic way within the app while always keeping the best interests of the users in mind.
Before Yubo, Mikael used to work as consultant for many big banks and assurance companies. Yubo was like love at first sight, he was driven by the idea to work for a French social media with a strong ethical code, that aims to be the safest in the world, which is very ambitious and implies huge challenges. As Head of Infrastructure, he manages the devops, the data engineers, the security, the IT management. His top mission is to keep Yubo online, and make it scale.
Valentin used to work for another social discovery app, but after few months there he felt the job wasn’t technically challenging anymore. He aimed at discovering new architectures and improving his technical stack. Yubo really corresponded to his expectations, and he was specially attracted by the fact that at Yubo we are all tenacious advocates for our users’ safety, which is our priority. To him working for Yubo is technically challenging and empowering : we iterate fasten our designs are challenging, and we make sure our code is strong, qualitative and maintainable.
After 10 years working in traditional big companies and experiencing what a massive international scale up can be, Marie-Charlotte wanted to find a place where she can connect easily with people to better understand their needs, but also to contribute to a working environment that fits with her core mindset, such as collaboration, adding value, and solution oriented. Making sure Yubo grows healthily is a top priority, first for our team, but also for our community of users. We are working to build a social discovery platform based on Safety, it is mandatory to set safe workspaces, where trust, shared values and commitment are fundamental pillars. To that extend, Marie-Charlotte’s mission is to facilitate development and make people impact at their best our company.
As Co-Founder and CTO at Yubo, Arthur is the architect of Yubo’s entire technology stack. He created, managed and scaled the technical infrastructure that supports Yubo and, today, he continues to develop and implement cutting-edge technology designed to enhance user experience and safety. Prior to founding Yubo, he developed a social networking platform with Jérémie and Sacha. Arthur is an alumnus of École Centrale Paris.
Sacha Lazimi is the co-founder and CEO of Yubo, the live social discovery app for Gen Z. Yubo is venture-backed by leading social media industry investors, with more than $60 million raised since the company was founded in 2015.
Prior to Yubo, as an 18-year-old mathematics student at Paris Dauphine University, Sacha developed with friends a hyper-geolocated group-chat app that allowed people to interact with a new person each day. This app and other similar projects were the foundation for Yubo, a social media platform enabling young people to socialize and create friendships in the digital world the same way they would in real life.
Under Sacha's leadership, Yubo has acquired more than 60 million users across more than 140 countries, with its greatest concentration of users in the U.S., the United Kingdom, and France.
