Job description

Hi there! 👋

We’re WeWard, and we make walking rewarding. Literally.
Millions of people around the world open our app every day to move more, feel better, and earn real-life rewards. It’s simple, smart, and built with purpose.

Now we’re looking for our next design powerhouse to join the journey. One part strategic thinker, one part UX/UI artist, one part mentor, and 100% passionate about building beautiful, useful, human-first experiences ☀️

🎯 The Role

As Head of UX/UI, you’ll work on both strategy and execution, working closely with our UX/UI designer Mélody (based in Boston), with Adrien (our Art Director in Paris), and reporting directly to David (our Product Director in New York). So yes, we’re quite international 🌎

You will:

  • Own and elevate the design vision of WeWard – from wireframe to wow ✨ by designing intuitive flows, wireframes, and prototypes that make users smile

  • Lead UX research, dig into user feedback, and stay ahead of design trends. Deep dive into user behavior, flow friction, and tiny interaction moments that make a big impact

  • Craft innovative interfaces that feel seamless, coherent, and alive

  • Help shape the product vision with the different teams (you’ll have a real voice)

  • Partner with developers to bring designs to life — pixel-perfect, or close enough

  • Collaborate across teams (Product, Tech, Marketing) to make sure design adds value at every step- your goal is to ship features that users actually love

  • Prioritize, juggle, adapt, iterate — you know the drill
Mentor and inspire the design team as it grows

  • Be the voice of design in strategic product conversations – because design IS strategy

  • Set quality standards and constantly push for better, bolder, cleaner UX/UI

Perks

  • ✈️A global, mission-driven team with teammates in Paris, NY, Boston

  • 🧘‍♀️A healthy work/life balance (we walk the talk)

  • 💡Annual learning & dev budget (you grow, we grow)

  • 🏠Hybrid work, with 2 days of remote work per week

  • 🏢(Really, really) Cool office in central Paris with snacks, a walking desk and a huge Wardy hanging around

Preferred experience

👀 Who we’re looking for

You’re a proven design leader who:

  • 💪Has 7+ years of experience in product/UX/UI design (mobile-first is your playground)

  • 📊Has led design teams or cross-functional projects before; you have the Product Vision, you understand user needs and anticipate trends

  • 🧰Is confident with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Notion, Design System creation and maintenance, and prototyping tools

  • Is fluent in English & in French!

  • 🎨Has a portfolio that makes us go “whoa” — show us your process, not just the pretty stuff

  • 💡You like to link improvement and agility by coming up with new ideas! The spirit of WeWard has always been based on the Test & Learn approach, so we trust you to experiment with new things!

  • 🐼You have a particular attraction for the start-up world and are looking to make a real impact in the adventure you’ll be joining.

  • 🌍 We’re now present in almost 30 countries worldwide… and you’re looking to develop in an international environment.

💬Soft skills that’ll make you thrive here

  • You care deeply about users, teammates, and craft

  • You know how to argue constructively and let ideas win

  • You’re autonomous, but not a lone wolf – we build together

  • You embrace feedback & iteration as fuel, you like to laugh while doing serious work

Recruitment process

Recruitment Timeline:

  • Around 30-min call with Kaënaath, our Talent Acquisition Specialist. Together you’ll talk about your expectations and experiences, and she’ll introduce you to WeWard.

  • Around 30-min call with David, your future manager. Here you’ll go in detail about the role’s missions.

  • A case study followed by a 1 hour debrief with the Product team, including time for mutual feedback with David, Mélody and Adrien (or Christine, our US Graphic Designer)

We finish with a tour of our offices to introduce you to other members of the team. And finally, if all goes well… Welcome! 🎉
